MSNBC Host Tees Off on Feminists Who Support Hillary Clinton but Not Monica Lewinsky
The Blaze ^ | February 8, 2015 | Mike Opelka

Recent controversial statements from feminist icon Gloria Steinem and former Secretary of State Madeline Albright sparked MSNBC's Joe Scarborough to unleash a rant against feminists who did not stand up for people like Monica Lewinsky.

The "Morning Joe" panel was discussing a recent statement Steinem made on Bill Maher's HBO show (and her subsequent apology posted on Facebook) about young women who follow Bernie Sanders and Albright's warning of a "special place in hell" for women who do not help other women.

Scarborough began his rant with the question, "Where were these women in 1998 when a young 22-yr-old intern was taken advantage of in the Oval Office?"

As the live audience cheered and clapped, he added, "And, on top of that, Gloria Steinem wrote an op-ed in the New York Times in 1998, eviscerating Monica Lewinsky, Kathleen Willey and all these other people."

Where were these women in 2008 when Sarah Palin was subjected to the most misogynistic attacks in modern American politics?

It was horrific that they said Bristol actually was Palin’s childs mother. Also, Letterman urged A-Rod to rape Palin’s then 14 year old daughter. No Joke.

Lewinsky was infatuated with a man everyone thought was mature enough and he still had sex with someone working at the White House a 22 year old under the Oval office desk.

None of the above degrading incidents towards children and women was in any way at any time objected to by NOW or any other Womens groups. Call it subjective outrage, or being filter by the R next to Palins political party designation
but I for one never ever since have any respect for their honesty, integrity or real intent to protect anyone but liberal women. Look do we see these groups saying anything about Planned Parenthood execs talking about big profits from selling body parts paying for $200,000 Italian sports cars and fancy homes?

I agree. They did destroy her life and her name. She participated in the process, but it is her name, life, and reputation that has forever been soiled. Re: Bill Clinton & Hillary’s part in the entire sordid mess, as Hillary would say, “What difference does it make?”

Joe’s got no room to talk about what happened to a pretty female ‘intern’ in someone’s DC office!

How, exactly, did a naive 22-year old intern have it coming?

Besides not being naive, and being a professional adult working at the White House, you mean?

You act like she was in diapers. Her life was maliciously destroyed, yes, but she admitted herself she was going to get her "presidential kneepads." Both sides were wrong here.

Scarborough closed his rant with, "How do they have the audacity to say this? They stumbled into this trap with Donald Trump. Why don't they stop?"

Exactly. These dopey feminists got burned by Donald Trump on this issue before. But they didn't learn and are doing it again. They are just so ideologically dogmatic that they can't make any other argument. Like a moth to a flame, they are drawn to this argument even if it kills them.

Monica can’t get someone to marry her, she is well educated but had to sell handbags because nobody would hire her.

I call the act she did on slick willy A “BJ Clinton”.
His initials are BJ and it should be associated with him not her surname. He had the power in their relationship.

In the corporate world BJ Clinton would be fired because of his senior position in degrading an intern. Its called sexual harassment and its illegal in a lot of places these days. A boss is not allowed to pressure an employee male or female to do sex acts.

I’m living in an alternate universe. MSNBC is talking sense and respecting conservative values in this one. Who would’ve imagined it?

I was thinking the same.

Yes it is but if it’s wrong to do in the board room I’m sure it’s wrong in the Oval office. Not bragging but a couple of times I have had to tell a young lady no because it wouldn’t be right. I’m sure even in Mr Bill’s twisted mind he knew that what he was doing with ML was wrong beyond the fact he was married but due to her age. Jack Welch caught more hell for having a younger mistress.

A clock that’s not working is right twice a day.

But this is the digital age. A broken clock is wrong all the time.

Anyone who views what PRESIDENT Bill Clinton did with
a very young woman working in his office as OK is
afflicted with CDS (Clinton Delusion Syndrome).
Furthermore, the same person would never believe any of
the women who testified he raped them.

Finally it’s coming out.

People like Hillary and Madeleine Albright don’t give a damn about everyday women or powerless women... Nope.

They care about liberal elite women. Period.

Albright was in the Clinton White House when young girls were being abused and she didn’t give a damn about them. Never raised her voice. Never stood with them or even asked a question. She stood with the abuser... and his enabler - and was proud of it.

Old witch.

Hats off to Morning Joe for having the courage to point out the uncomfortable truth...

“Morning Joe is by FAR the Best TV show about politics!”

Yeah, I remember when they mocked Trump and said he had no chance.
Yeah, I remember when they mocked Cruz and said he had no chance and has no friends in Congress.

It’s a great show if you like their elite condescension and mockery of principled conservatives. I have to admit they are coming to realize that Hillary is just a bad candidate and pretty dishonest.

I record the show from time to time, but their snobbery just gets to be too much.

I think the argument goes: “(Feminist) women benefit so much from the expansion of the welfare state and the steadfast pro-choice positions held by the Clintons that the few that choose to take offense at Bill’s Bumptious Behavior are really not an important consideration.” Or something...
