Thanks, huldah1776, but I think you meant Peter ODonnell's post, which is the one I was replying to. His was the post with the three points.

I do find that Peter was right on point. With Rand Paul out, Cruz is clearly the best choice. (Paul had his own problems, but that's water under the bridge now.) "Best choice" here assumes you're looking for a constitutionalist who would reduce the size of government, preserve liberty, and cut back on spending.

I have some difficulties with Cruz's foreign policy and social policies, but that's the nature of the big tent that you need to win.
