HE has failed on everything he has touched that didn't conform to this model. He had a food company that failed (Trump Steaks), a liquor company that failed (Trump Vodka)

Trying and failing is better than not trying.

Sorry, it’s called winning and opening negotiations. You’ll be impressed by how smart and serious he is once he takes office - that’s why he’s MOPPING UP the field even now.

Trump's policy pages are skimpy in just about every area. But in reducing taxes he is as strong and comprehensive as any other candidate. Better than Cruz in that Trump wants to reduce corporate taxes not replace them with a VAT.

Trump is by far the most prepared to step in and make America great on day 1. I am the first to admit we may not like all of his policies and some will definitely not be conservative. But to claim that he can’t run America because... Trump Steaks??

We conservatives who blindly follow this narcissist will be crestfallen when the reality of serial betrayals sinks in.

If Trump wins, DTs will take on a whole new meaning.

part of what makes the kook element think Trump is a "socialist" is the fact that he wants border security.

Since 99%, or more, of socialists want wide open borders, your claim makes no sense.

See Trump thinks HE is the solution, his positions are based on what he ‘feels’ in real time he is salesman selling a product Trump.

Of the Trump President brand he is selling now fails like Trump Vodka we are screwed.

Reagan, Cruz these guys run on the basis of PRINCIPLES that are far more important than they are. They had the WISDOM to recognize that the AMERICAN PEOPLE are the solution not a ‘strongman’ who brands himself a conservative without even understanding what the term means.

“who do you think handles tariffs? The Benevolent society?”

Of course the IRS are the enforcers. Your misleading original statement is what I was pointing out:

“....and instead of rolling back our liberal government to entice companies to stay onshore or move onshore, Trump wants to sic the IRS on companies who don’t hire the way he wants.”

Putting tariffs on companies who choose to go off shore to utilize cheap labor definitely IS a fine, which some mistake as a tax. Companies can choose to move out of the US and hire whoever they want, but there will be a tariff (fine) to pay. By lowering tax rates, he IS creating incentives for companies to remain in the US and hire American workers. It goes hand in hand with building a wall to foil the cheap labor express. It’s all a far cry from proclaiming “if companies don’t hire the way Trump wants, he’s going to punish him” like some turd world quasi socialist dictator. Trump is right on in his approach to stopping the massive influx of invaders the cheap labor express so very much desires, as well as his approach to use both incentives AND fines to try and keep business in the United States.

If Trump is the nominee, there will be no alternative vision to full on socialism presented during the general election. The conservative alternative will not even be part of the debate or on the ballot.

>> "Progressive" is a better term than "socialist" for the concept that a gov't of experts can solve all the world's problems <<

Precisely. Trump's approach would seem kinda like our having Woodrow Wilson and Herbert Croly be reincarnated, only this time with orange hair.

A few years ago, Jonah Goldberg wrote a great book about the ideology of "rule by experts." The book was entitled, Liberal Fascism.

But since the Trumpsters usually don't read the articles around here, I guess I shouldn't bother recommending a book to them.

Nationalist Socialism or Internationalist Socialism. What a choice.

Oh, c’mon. Give the guy some credit. At least he founded such outstanding enterprises as Trump University and Trump Airlines.

In a previous thread I said he was more similar to a Teddy Roosevelt or Taft type of Nationalist progressive than an actual conservative. But who knows what he really is. I think his words mean nothing.

I just checked my copy of the Constitution, and I can’t find anything where it says the President should “run” the country. What am I missing?

Open borders in the USSR? Open borders in Red China? Open borders in Cuba? In North Korea? I don’t understand.

Didn’t read that one, but “Vision of the Anointed” By Sowell covered that territory pretty well.

I had an epiphany on my drive to Florida and back, namely that a Trump candidacy/presidency is an absolutely win-win situation for us “burn it down” folks.

Win #1 Trump wins the nomination, thus demolishing the GOP wing of the Uniparty kleptocracy.

Win #2 Trump defeats Biden for the presidency, wreaking havoc on both sides of the Uniparty kleptocracy. And he would win a general election, considering that the clear majority of the electorate is comprised of celebretistas with a nanosecond attention span, even less hard knowledge, and absolutely zero critical thinking skills.

Win #3 Trump reverts to his old form as a fascist kleptocrat (I refuse to use the term “crony capitalist”: the word is fascist) and accomplishes NOTHING that the conservative and protest voters expected from him. No reduction is the size, scope or power of the Leviathan. No reprisal against abortuary operators or the rainbow jihad. He is a deal makers and will do what deal makers do: make deals! In response, the Burn It Down Brigade explodes in fury, and focuses that fury on the Uniparty/K Street kleptocrats.

In other words, his utter lack of principle serves to bring down the whole facade. What’s not to like?
