Jeb Bush Gains Some Steam After New Hampshire
Wall Street Journal ^ | 2/10/16 | BETH REINHARD

Posted on 02/10/2016 5:39:19 AM PST by jimbo123

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's virtual tie for third place in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday is the moment he has been waiting for to revive a struggling campaign.

Campaign advisers said he needed to exceed expectations and beat his home-state rival, Sen. Marco Rubio, and after months of slumping poll numbers, he did. Mr. Rubio was in fifth place, roughly a point behind Mr. Bush and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. Mr. Bush now heads to South Carolina with some wind at his back, a political organization on the ground and some potentially powerful surrogates on hand.

"This campaign is not dead-we're going on to South Carolina," Mr. Bush told supporters in New Hampshire.

With a headquarters in Columbia and three field offices across the state, his campaign says it has already contacted more than 500,000 voters and knocked on more than 50,000 doors.

The super PAC backing his campaign, Right to Rise USA, has spent $10 million in the state and is currently airing two ads.

I am ashamed to admit I once gave the WSJ the price of a subscription.

In my defense, though, they had rabidly right-wing editorials back then. They even defended Second Amendment rights.... WHILE BEING BASED IN NYC!!!

statement made by Jeb! 11/5/15:

“Jeb Bush guaranteed victory in New Hampshire’s first in the nation primary. Despite tanking poll numbers, the governor told WMUR he remains confident he can win.”

Jeb! collects about 11% of the vote and that is gaining steam?

"Virtual third place tie" does not equal delegates.

As Ricky Bobby would say, "if you ain't first, you're last."

"This campaign is not dead"

That has never been said by anybody on a live campaign.

He will keep bullshitting his donors and PAC fools until they run out of money or get wise - he sure as hell isn’t convincing any voters in numbers that mean anything.

“I’m old enough to remember before the Wall Street Journal was a rabidly left-wing Republican publication.”

For many years it has been a mouthpiece for the Chamber of Commerce, cheap immigrant labor wing of the GOP. In almost every other respect, though, it has been faithful to conservative principles.

My take on last night is Trump will most likely win the Republican nomination. The General election I am not as sure of. Cruz and Trump are fighting for the same voters, and Cruz does not stand a chance. The establish lane is really muddy and I would like to think someone could emerge to challenge Mr. Trump, but I don’t see it. They will all knock each other out. If Cruz does stay in the race for a long time then it will just take Trump a little longer. My favorite Marc Rubio as of now is a very long chance to win the nomination, though I still believe he is our strongest general election candidate. I will vote for whoever wins gladly.

Living in the Philippines, I was privy to some inside info on elections here. During the last cycle, some of the local pols were paying 500PhPesos per vote. Another group paid 1000. I know lots of folks that took the money from both, but the people paying a grand did get more votes. Yes is doing something wrong!

As Ricky Bobby would say, “if you ain’t first, you’re last.”

Or as the Magic Man told Ricky Bobby “Abracadabra, Holmes”. Just disappear from the race and go back to your mommie.
