Rush is not going to back down on his assessment, which is clearly accurate. Trump is a petty, vindictive con man who can’t wait to deal with radical Democrats.

Cruz is not a team builder like Reagan was. Not even close. That’s his fatal flaw.

yep. Cruz is more the Reagan Myth created by Talk Radio and other Conservatives in the 1990s. The real Reagan was a rather more complex, humbler, humanly flawed individual. Myth Reagan is a flawless Conservative god, the real Reagan, like all humans, was far less perfect.

I think what is meant here is Cruz isn't as handsome as Reagan.

We can kid ourselves but the truth is thats an issue for many.

I met Trump once. He reminded me of Robin Leach with a different accent.

“Trump is trying to do optimism but his grouchy tweets tend to put a damper on this.”

I don’t agree with that opinion.

People actually liked Reagan because he had a winning personality.

I don’t dislike Rush, but his ardent defense of Rubio has me questioning his motives lately.

I’m done letting talking heads from the paid political class influence my thinking. They’re all against Trump, they’ve all predicted or alluded to his demise at some point, and they all seem more worried about their paychecks than anything else.

They seem genuinely terrified. I’m sticking with Trump.

This idea that Democrats liked Reagan is a Big Lie. They loathed him.

He says something daily so media will cover it. Then on his show he can say media always gets it wrong.

Yep...10 to 1 that's how he starts his show today. He'll spend at least an hour talking about how he NEVER endorsed Cruz and playing every clip he can find where he's mentioned by name.

Would Cruz start a revolution?

Would people follow him?

Sounds like sheep herding to me, and smells like it too.

Cruz is REAGAN! LOL! Not a single Democrat would vote for Cruz. Reagan got MILLIONS of them to do so, as will Trump. I think Rush is a bit confused here. Also Ronald Reagan was in no way a “doctrinaire conservative” — look at his liberal past on abortion and guns, for example.

I met both once. Both have similarities.

They both supported amnesty and both supported un-fair trade.

Not accurate, it’s opinion. And commits the logical fallacies of too few alternatives, opinion asserted as absolute fact, strawman, and sweeping generalization.

RE: Any Ted disasters would be of a different kind.

In 1980, Reagan was vulnerable to attacks about his pro-life and pro-growth commitment since his record as governor on both issues were mixed.

As governor, He signed the Therapeutic Abortion Act, after only six months in office. From a total of 518 legal abortions in California in 1967, the number of abortions would soar to an annual average of 100,000 in the remaining years of Reagan’s two terms.

He also endorsed a $1 billion per year tax increase, equivalent to a $17 billion tax increase today, to solve the huge budget deficit he inherited from Pat Brown.

Yet, he was able to convince the electorate that he LEARNED from his mistakes and THIS TIME, IT WOULD BE DIFFERENT.

The bible warns us that it will. One has to argue with how God has put things together

Rush says the candidates need Trump to show them the WAY! Well if Trump is the WAY then what the hell do we need the other candidates for?-)

RE: They both supported amnesty and both supported un-fair trade.

The former is questionable when it comes to Ted Cruz. The latter is questionable as well since he voted AGAINST the TPA.

I met Trump once too, at a charity golf event for special needs kids where I volunteered. He asked what was going on, and when my boss told him, he wrote a $10,000 check on the spot.

RE: Cruz is REAGAN! LOL!

I think you misread the title of this thread. It DID NOT SAY that Ted Cruz is Reagan.
