Ted Cruz’s Integrity Trumps "Dirty Tricks"
Town Hall ^ | Feb 11, 2016 | Lee Culpepper

Posted on 02/11/2016 5:34:37 PM PST by SoConPubbie

While Donald Trump, the GOP Establishment, and the media scramble to undermine Ted Cruz's march to the White House, Cruz's super-fantastic-third-place finish in New Hampshire suggests undecided voters are recognizing that dignity, integrity, and fearlessness are at the core of Ted Cruz's principles and leadership.

It remains an enigma, for me at least, how the Cruz campaign's decision to share CNN's breaking report -- which irrefutably questioned Carson's seriousness about winning the election minutes before the Iowa Caucus began -- turned in to Ted Cruz's "dirty trick."

In fact, the media, Donald Trump, and even Dr. Carson have done a great job burying the reality that caucuses are set up to give supporters the opportunity to persuade one another to get behind the candidate they support. Hence, the Cruz campaign's directive to share CNN's report. After each candidate's supporters make their cases, everyone lines up and the supporters are counted up in front of God and everyone else who is attending. There is no privacy to the voting.

Consequently, the real "dirty trick" is pretending that Carson's supporters were not immediately able to shoot down CNN's report along with the Cruz campaign's bogus conclusion about what it suggested. It's not like Carson supporters don't have smart phones. The entire controversy that Carson's performance might have been negatively affected is an absolute hoax. It is a "dirty trick" that is clearly being used to torpedo the proven Washington outsider, Ted Cruz.

Granted, Dr. Carson probably felt a lot like Ted Cruz did when Donald Trump tried to "steal" votes from Cruz by erroneously speculating that Cruz was not eligible to become president. Carson also probably felt a lot like Ted Cruz did when Marco Rubio tried to "steal" votes from Cruz by falsely alleging that Cruz is a fellow GOP amnesty lover -- just like Rubio still is.

However, unlike Donald Trump and Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz had the common decency to apologize and the integrity and courage to take responsibility for his staff member's erroneous conclusion concerning CNN's report.

A lot of old people want to vote, and this tactic is designed to confuse and scare them. It is kind of ugly.

About half of the Trump cult contaminating the atmosphere on FR are actually paid Trump and Bush employees. The other half are dimwitted fools.

Oprah for VP? No way, no how. I think he knows better, and he should come out and say he was JK. But if it were to happen, I’d do a write-in for president.

“Cruz’s super-fantastic-third-place finish in New Hampshire....”

I can’t stop laughing at this stuff.

In my world, coming in 3rd place meant you were the 2nd to lose.

Let’s see, Cruz got 12% of the vote, that is almost tied with worthless Bush at 11% and below Kasich who has 16% and way down from the winner -Trump with 35%.

It’s real tough for me to see this as a “super-fantastic” score. LOL

~~Go Trump Go~~

Thanks to your hint, I did some research. Although the history of the law is convoluted, it seems clear that in Cruz's case his citizenship was acquired by birth and not by naturalization.

Here is a pretty good discussion, U.S. Citizenship Acquired by Birth Abroad. It's a 2011 article by a Canadian lawyer. The date of the article implies to me that the lawyer had no axe to grind on this issue.

You're welcome.

The statute is Pub.L. 82-414 § 301(a)(7),(b); 66 Stat. 236

The retention requirements specified by § 301(b) were later reduced (Pub. L. 92-584 §§ 1, 3; 86 Stat. 1289 (1972)), and then eliminated (Pub. L. 95-432 §§ 1, 3; 92 Stat. 1046 (1978)).

They cannot discern his use of vocabulary and sentence structure because he tumbles it back over itself.....therefore they ear what they want to ear, better said they understand the way he wants the to and not the way he’s actually saying........it’s a tactic of deception.
