Word on Twitter is Cruz has pulled this ad

Hope he didn't stiff her for the ad.

I’m pretty sure he’s not, because he has no valid HI birth certificate and without a birth on US soil his mother was not old enough to confer US citizenship on him according to the citizenship laws in effect at the time.

Yeah I’m sure Ted was personally involved with the casting of this commercial.

Cruz attempting to steal one of Trump’s bases of support?

A tad bit judgmental and I suppose you can personally vouch for the backgrounds of all the candidates staffs, commercial actors, and anyone that associates with them?

Yep. And my guess is it wasn’t Ted Cruz who recognized her from her porn days.

By the scare quote quotation marks in your post it seems like you don’t think that allowing God to turn a person’s life around is a very Christian thing.

Am I understanding you correctly?

Very, VERY well-said.

I don’t like talking behind somebody’s back, because I might not be understanding correctly and want them to have a chance to clarify their stance. That’s why I’ve asked some here for how they justify their comments. They haven’t given a justification, and people can easily see that. But sometimes it’s too much to try to publicly hold accountable the people who are acting like trolls, because there are so many - which is very disappointing.

The media is loving this. One of the things I love about Trump is that he takes the media on. I had thought that the power of the media was crippled, but it isn’t. There are still people here (and all over, I presume) who are being manipulated by stupid media shenanigans. The truth doesn’t matter to most people.

We just attended the first of a 6-part seminar by a guy who grew up Muslim but converted to Christianity. He was studying medicine, devoted to science. It wasn’t the evil requirements of Islam that got him to leave, it was that the claims in the Quran COULDN’T be true. They could not be factually true. And the truth mattered to him. He commented that Muslims are targeting colleges, to recruit converts. It doesn’t make sense that institutions of learning - that are supposed to be committed to an evidence-based epistemology - would yield so many converts to Islam. But the fact is, the institutions of learning are mostly NOT committed to factual accuracy but are instead post-modern - espousing the view that we make up our own reality and there is no objective truth. That worthless worldview creates a situation ripe for lies to win the day. That includes Islam, and that includes the same kind of media manipulation that you and I can both see happening. “Conservatives” think they are above that; they’re not. They are sheep just like the liberals are sheep, in way too many instances. And that is evident here as in other places.

i didn’t say opposing cruz was opposing the Almighty...

mighty defensive there.

i stand with cruz, because he is a man of principle... and has shown he will stay the course, not change to make deals.

i will back trump if cruz is not the nominee, but the vitriol that is evident from the trump camp is disheartening.

take care too.

I believe that God should be a guiding light in everyone’s life, that is not my point.

My point is the hypocrisy of Raphael. He touts Christian values in Iowa, and then hires a porn star to get votes.

Apparently I missed something or, as Iv’e often suspected, am actually quite stupid.

I did notice that they immediately pulled the ad. (Perhaps someone else saw the hypocrisy).

That “porn star” has turned her life around. She hasn’t been in porn for a long time and is a conservative Christian right now.

It’s not likely that Cruz or his campaign even knew this woman’s past, but even if they did, what would be so hypocritical about hiring her to be in one of his ads?

How many of the media’s headlines about this tell the whole story about this woman, and how many frame this to put the worst possible light on Cruz? These are the kinds of media manipulations that Cruz said he would be hit with. And the truth is that if you’re receiving flak you’re probably over the target. Why does the media want us all to believe that Cruz is a Christian hypocrite? If he really was they’d want him to be the candidate so they could tear apart Christianity like the wolves they are.

Agree completely, thanks for your post. You should repost it in every thread that starts going down this particular rabbit hole.

I haven’t chosen a candidate yet, and am glad that my primary is far enough down the chain that I can use campaign performance in the early primaries as a criteria for who earns my vote.

I won’t use bad behavior byba candidates supporters as a criteria, unless it turns out that bad behavior is being organized and orchestrated by the campaign they’re supporting.

However i see myself as an outlier in that regard. I hope that ALL involved realize tho that we’re rapidlt approaching a point of irreconcialable and very angry differences that will put Hillary in the White House.

Raphael’s “campaign” doesn’t know much of anything.

I don’t know how much he is paying them, but it’s too much. The debacle with Carson, the mailers in Iowa..and now a porn star to be a poster girl for Christian values. It doesn’t matter what I think..what matters is perception.

Not everyone, especially women, care for porn. He should have featured a vet, or someone recovering from a terrible illness..but a porn star?

When Raphael gets the boot, he can thank his “campaign”.

Apparently, another is in New Hampshire:
http://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2016/02/illinois_and_new_hampshire_agree_cruz_is_a_natural_born_citizen.html

I haven’t seen anyone denied standing; I’ve only seen that people are expecting that a Texas lawsuit (not one of the three) probably won’t get a hearing.

Another nothingburger:

"The actress responded to an open casting call," Cruz campaign national press secretary Catherine Frazier told TheDC. "She passed her audition and got the job. Unfortunately, she was not vetted by the casting company. Had the campaign known of her full filmography, we obviously would not have let her appear in the ad. The campaign is taking the ad down and will replace it with a different commercial."

Those are election boards, ruling that Cruz can be on the ballot. They have no credentials to rule on the meaning of the US Constitution. This can only be finally settled by going through the courts, and ultimately to the Supreme Court. And about the only person who would have standing, based on previous rulings that refused standing to a candidate because he wouldn’t have won anyway (according to the judge’s crystal ball...), is Trump. I’d like to think that Trump would take a chance to work with Cruz to expose the 2008 coup, and an eligibility lawsuit by Trump would do that. But it’s not looking like he’ll do it. Maybe he’s afraid it would sink his own chances because the media would attack him. I don’t know. I’m watching.

But no, the issue hasn’t been decided in the courts where it needs to be decided.
