Associate Justice Antonin Scalia was found dead of apparent natural causes Saturday on a luxury resort in West Texas, federal officials said.
Scalia, 79, was a guest at the Cibolo Creek Ranch, a resort in the Big Bend region south of Marfa. According to a report, Scalia arrived at the ranch on Friday and attended a private party with about 40 people. When he did not appear for breakfast, a person associated with the ranch went to his room and found a body.
U.S. District Judge Fred Biery said he was among those notified about Scalia's death.
"I was told it was this morning," Biery said of Scalia's death. "It happened on a ranch out near Marfa. As far as the details, I think it's pretty vague right now as to how," he said. "My reaction is it's really unfortunate with any death. And now, politically, in the presidential cycle we're in my educated guess is nothing will happen before the next president is elected."

Scalia felt fine enough to go to the resort, then whammo! Dead meat! Lot of treachery going on with Obama’s desire to transform America by any means necessary.
And Baldwin is CORRECT. The nomination and hearings won't even begin until March at earliest. Streeeeeeeetch it to July and the Senate adjourns and nothing really won't happen until after the election in November. If a Republican is elected President, then definitely NOTHING will happen until 2017.

If he sticks to that then the next POTUS will likely be able to nominate at least two Judges. Ginsburg is on her way out.

It has been my understanding that recess appointments were only available for executive branch positions. Filling a judicial position required action by both exec and legislative branches.
I cannot prove it, however.

Uf the Senate can block Obama’s nominations until the next POTUS comes to Office we better make sure we keep the Senate after Elections!!!
The GOP in DC also know how successful their money is at derailing conservative candidates and they all know that their careers will leap in remuneration if they do lose their elections.
