Baloney most of us seniors have worked since our teens and paid money that we were told would be safely invested and should have been worth far more than the paltry month check most get. The entitlement should be that we are entitled to better treatment by the government. Very few retirees live that long after starting SS and many don’t make it that far.

If we got all the phoney disability claims off SS, it would greatly help. My children and grandchildren will be cheated as you point out. That angers me but they have warning to prepare for themselves.

And you can’t discern a guy who’s just having fun with a crowd.

You probably like the super-lawyer, clerk of Rehnquist, top lawyer in his class at Harvard who even though he had his birth certificate from CANADA in his own hands says he did not know that he had Canadian citizenship.

Do you really believe that? HOnestly? Do you believe that?

Before he even announced that he ‘did not know’ I knew a few months before just from googling it for an hour or two.

So, do YOU really believe THAT?

He had one task. GET BIN LADEN. his intelligence allowed zer0 to get him....but he needed to play ‘get the guy who has photoshopped pictures of my daughter’.

Lots of guys have poison gas.....and use it to, on their own people. Little African nations. The Norks. So what. Hussein kept the Iranians at bay. Now we have ISIS because zer0 dropped the ball in Iraq which was an accident ready to happen.

Excuse me....he will take care of that SSDI nonsense. Nobody should be getting that. Immediately stop that program and Social Security can last forever. Also stop giving kids money whose parents died. Life Insurance is supposed to be used for that.

So you get the lazy people off SSDI and you get the kids off of SS and you have Social Security forever.

Who had been president for 9 months already when 9/11 happened?

Take your case and post a new post about it and see what they think. Don’t throw crap around in somebody elses post.

This debate was a joke. No substance and childish behavior. I blame the RNC for this debacle.

"According to a recent Brown University study, the wars and their ripple effects have cost the United States $3.7 trillion, or more than $12,000 per American."

However, spread out over the the 14 1/2 years since 9/11, that's $828 per capita annually. In comparison to the roughly $30,000 maximum SS retirement payment, it's not enough to make all that much of a difference. In addition, the wars are a "sunk cost" at this point. Of course we should investigate why 106 year olds are cashing SS checks. It shouldn't be all that difficult to confirm that a SS recipient is still breathing.

There are actuarial problems regarding the SS retirement system but there's still plenty of time to resolve them. Actuarially, 80 is the "new 60", and I see plenty of 60-somethings out jogging. Eventually raising the minimum age or partly taxing benefits would be the low-hanging fruit.

The bigger problem is SSDI, it follows that it must contain fraud and abuse, since applications appear to move in tandem with the unemployment rate. If the gov't is lax about investigating SS retirement payments that don't make any sense, I doubt it expends more effort investigating the much more difficult to investigate SSDI recipients as carefully as private DI insurers do.

He said to defund them if they keep doing abortions. Look it up.

The problem is I saw the response in full where he said "keep funding the good parts" without qualifiers. Trump, by nature of his personality and style and background tends to speak on these things sloppily and then fine-tune or even change his position later. So, looking things up where he says one thing, may be corrected later, but corrected again later still. I'm willing to have Trump as my #2, but a Cruz, Santorum or Brownback would not give any of my money to Planned Parenthood.

I personally believe that Trump is pandering to pro-lifers on this (after seeing what happened to Giuliani), and I am willing to accept that over HRC/Sanders; but it also means the pressure has to be kept on if he gets the nomination and/or presidency.

quietly but effectively said that he was in it for the people, that he'd been asked to run, and that he wasn't there for any other reason.

Over 95% of the people are saying someone else should be president. Why isn't Carson listening to those people?

Here is what Trump has actually said:

Laura Ingraham: Yesterday, Planned Parenthood was exposed again in an eighth video released by the Center for Medical Progress. Do you still believe there are two Planned Parenthoods or is it time to defund this organization?

Donald Trump: Well, you should DEFUND ANYWAY BECAUSE THEY ARE DOING ABORTIONS. It is like an ABORTION FACTORY, which is terrible. So you should DEFUND anyway. But those videos are horrible. Every time you see them, they get worse and worse. And its not only that, the messengers are so bad. There always, I mean these people, what they say and the way they, its like you are selling parts to an automobile or something. Its a terrible situation going on with Planned Parenthood. Theres no question about it.

Now, he has also said that a group like PP that would STOP supporting/doing abortions, could go ahead and do pap smears or other exams, and he wouldn't care.

You either deal with truth or you lie. And that's why Ted Cruz is a liar on this.

It’s a campaign. I listened to him after New Hampshire. He’s funded all the way to Cleveland, and he’s taking his issues there with him.

Didn’t catch last night’s debate, but the way he was thumping his lectern in the previous debate was all I remembered of him.

He thumped just hard enough to make his mic go boom-boom-boom.

Overdid though with too much repetition, that made it memorable.

I agree with that assessment. Bush went into Iraq under the pretense that they had WMDs. He never made a connection between 9/11 and the involvement of Iraq.

Once he got the permission to invade Iraq, he never defended his initial assertion. He has remained silent of this assertion to date. Day after day the rats beat him up on this issue, while he did absolutely nothing to defend himself. He tarnished the republican name bad enough that it stacked the deck against McCain (not saying that McCain would win without this, but it didn't help). And yes, it created a vacuum in the middle east which ISIS was more than glad to fill.

Yep, that was very very bad for bobble head Rubio.

Then, as usual, he tried to explain that amnesty isn’t amnesty, or something.
