Where Did China Get This F-22 Raptor?

A sleepy airport in rural China is not where you'd expect to find America's latest and greatest fighter plane. And yet at some point in the last six weeks a F-22 Raptor--or full-sized copy of one--was sighted by commercial imaging satellites parked at Pucheng Neifu Airport in China.

That didn't come out right:

Steve O’Bryan, one of Lockheed Martin’s top executives for the F-35 program, was seated across the table from the chief of China’s air force almost two years ago at the gala dinner held at the Royal International Air Tattoo. They chatted amiably during dinner, through an interpreter. Then Steve got up to give an award and was introduced as the head of Lockheed’s F-35 international business development.

When he got back to his seat the interpreter had vanished and the air chief himself was sitting next to Steve. They chatted for a while. Then the air chief leaned over to Steve, smiling and said: “You know, Steve, I really love the F-35. I’d really love to have the F-35 in my air force.”

Steve thought to himself: I’m the Lockheed business development guy, so I should ask him how many he wants! So he asked the air chief. “He kind of looks at me and says: ‘You know Steve, I need just one.”

China has a long history of copying technology from the West and Russian. I doubt there is much they have not managed to steal or buy from our corrupt incompetent Government.

I love all the laughter directed at the Chi-Coms. Sounds frighteningly similar to the derision directed at the “buck-toothed, glasses-wearing Japs” and their cheap antiquated aircraft prior to Dec. 7, 1941.

Lots of young Americans died because we failed to recognize a real threat when it existed. We are making the same mistake again. The Chi-Coms just achieved anti-aircraft missile superiority in a huge area of the China Sea. Placing anti-aircraft missiles on their newly made islands while a complicit ubama watched, is a huge deal.

They mean to gain complete parity with the USA very shortly. Clinton and Obama aided them. Bush didn’t help them, but certainly didn’t do much to delay them, either.

Yep. China is a master of “reverse engineering.’ They only need 1. They will build the rest themselves.

As to the plane’s stealth, that is unknown at this point.
