Trump clarifies Anderson Cooper remarks on Obamacare mandate
Twitter ^

Donald J. Trump ‏@realDonaldTrump 26m26 minutes ago

I was asked about healthcare by Anderson Cooper & have been consistent- I will repeal all of #ObamaCare, including the mandate, period.

I was referring to a backstop for pre-existing conditions. I will eliminate the law, in its entirety, & replace it w/ something much better.

I will replace it with private plans, health savings accounts, & allow purchasing across state lines. Maximum choice & freedom for consumer.

I'm self-funding and I am going to take care of the people – not the special interests and insurance companies like the other candidates.

Remember, Cruz and Bush gave us Roberts who upheld #ObamaCare twice! I am the only one who will #MAKEAMERICAGREATAGAIN!

Got it, due to a mindless feverish worship of a certain candidate you will cling to the lie spun out by bloggers and ignore all facts that show it to be a lie.

Truly sad that this sort of mindless bot behavior is now marketed as “Principled Conservatism”

You may be on to something. Trump saying he "likes the man date" would explain his popularity with the log-cabin republicans. I wonder if Anderson was dreaming about running his fingers through Trump's dew? It also explains all the articles commenting on how difficult it is to get one's head around Trump's yuge-ness!

Access to health care for poor people is readily available in virtually every county in the country at low or no cost at the local public health clinic. Most moderate-size cities also have charity clinics run by non-profits or volunteer health professionals. The ER nonsense was just a ploy to get the public to buy into the fraudulent promises of cost savings under Obamacare.

It is true there are many local and charitable clinics, but the disadvantaged are still clogging the ER's. On three separate occasions I've had to go to an ER and had to wait for all the illegals kids to have their sniffles wiped off their faces. My emergencies weren't trivial; first a heart attack, then a fall and injuries after the heart attack, and a colonoscopy gone bad. I could have died each time, and all because the disadvantaged get theirs first. Some triage.

His clarification is no better, to wit, he wasn’t talking about a mandate but instead, a back-stop on pre-existing conditions.

The two concepts go hand in hand. The whole point of a mandate is to force healthy people to pay to offset the back-stop on pre-existing conditions.

So, Trump is going to give us cheaper healthcare, with more choices, that back-stops pre-existing conditions, and no mandate?

Wow.

Sorry, but that’s a bigger whopper than, “If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor...”

Why WHY WHY!!!! does the only guy in the race who’s right on immigration, trade, and national sovereignty issues also have to be such a dope when people ask him about stuff like health care?

Have you noticed that when the Mouth gets in trouble he is talking live? When he has to clarify he reads from prepared notes?

Because His mouth writes checks his asp can't cash so his handlers have to clarify in writing what they need to spin to get him out of the trouble his big mouth gets him in.

This latest “Headline” regarding mandates, posted numerous times yesterday and today, was an interpretation by Cruz supporters, and they likely knew it.

Campaigns who are trailing with time running out will often chase headlines in hopes something will stick.

John Kerry tried this same strategy against Bush in the last week of that campaign.

Never seen it work, but I guess there’s always a first time.

"On June 16th, when we started this journey, there were 17 candidates.
I was told by everybody, 'Do not go to Iowa. You could never finish even in the
top ten.' And I said, 'But I have friends in Iowa. I know a lot of people in Iowa.
I think they'll really like me. Let's give it a shot.' They said, 'Don't do
it.' I said, 'I have to do it.' And, we finished second,
and I want to tell you something,

I'm just honored, I'm really honored."

“On three separate occasions I’ve had to go to an ER and had to wait for all the illegals kids to have their sniffles wiped off their faces.”

Then your hospital’s ER isn’t properly managed. Both ERs in my area have a triage nurse stationed at the entrance. S/he is trained in emergency medicine to quickly and accurately evaluate the nature and severity of the “emergency” and direct the patient to one of three locations. Sniffles get you set to the large, overcrowded waiting room where it may take several hours to be seen by a nurse or nurse practitioner.

There is no call for using personal insults to a poster who simply posted a transcript of the question and Trumps answer.

The state line barrier is an enormous factor. I’ve been advocating busting that for many years.

Or eminent domain, or Planned Parenthood, or the Iraq War, or ...

On another thread, I heard another former Trump supporting Freeper say he was all gung ho Trump, until he woke up one morning and finally realized that Trump was left of Mittens.

“There is no call for using personal insults to a poster who simply posted a transcript of the question and Trumps answer.”

I have the utmost respect for the poster. My comment is not meant as a personal insult. If the poster took it as a personal insult I will apologize.

Harping on the “mandate” word, as has been done since last night, happens to remind me of Beavis and Butthead chuckling at a word they found to be off color: Oooh, he said “mandate”. It strikes me as funny.
