Americans in Kenya can vote with Democrats Abroad, which is one of the 57 nominating contests.

There is something about going in person on election day that just seems right.

It's kinduv Constitutional-like or something.

I’ve talked to Iowa GOP attendees to around 40 different caucus locations. None reported more than the usual token numbers of crossovers from Dems. Surprisingly, a number of them mentioned knowing Republicans (mostly young) who crossed over to the Dems for 2016! Nobody has an explanation.

>>Only GOP voting today - except that this is an open primary so Dems can cross over and ruin it.<<

I assume that if a Dem or Independent votes today, they won’t then be able to vote in the Dem primary coming up, correct?

Given that the Dem race is still competitive, and that the most likely crossovers to Trump are Bernie voters not Hillary voters, I doubt there will be a lot of crossing over just to mess with the GOP unless they can vote in both primaries (which I highly doubt they can.)

The will be a lot of Independents choosing the GOP primary, of course, but I don’t think there will be a lot of messing with us just for the sake of doing so.

Friends of mine in SC tell me the local buzz is Rubio surge to a strong second...

Some of the polls show that but many of the polls show otherwise, so some (or many) pollsters are going to have egg on their face tonight.

As far as Rubio coming in second, that might not be such a bad thing for Trump, especially going into Super Tuesday where many of the states are in the South. Ted Cruz is thought to do very well in the South and if he comes in third in SC, that will certainly hurt him. But if Rubio makes a strong second, the media will fawn over him again. I sure hope Trump wins big - in the double digits if possible.

“I wonder if Cruz was trying to talk Carson into throwing his support that way. Cruz always banked on getting Carson votes when Carson dropped but there’s a better chance of a snowstorm in hell now than Carson voters flocking to Ted.”

This is the difference between Trump followers and Carson/Cruz or most other supporters. Carson supporters do NOT listen to Ben Carson blindly and follow him to where he says to go. They, and this may sound strange to Trump followers, think for themselves. I know too many Carson supporters who love Ben, really like Ted and disdain Trump.

According to Tweets, which may or may not be accurate, 75,000 votes were from absentee ballots. The absentee votes in 2012 were only 36 thousand, and includes total numbers for both parties. The 75 thousand number would— if accurate— represent just the GOP. I saw an article the other day that absentee votes were over 50,000, but don’t know about this new 75 thousand number.
