I have seen this phenomenon before; Jesse Ventura 1998 Minnesota.
Jesse sounded conservative and like he had common sense when he ran and on his radio show and beat out 2 well established political names by appealing to those turned off by politics and sick of politicians (which is 40% of the population.)
Jesse was an egotist about his “mind.”
So far, Trump hasn’t expressed that kind of sentiment.
