My observations on the Republican Primary

My observations on the Republican Primary.

The pattern of isolating one player at a time before taking them out, that Trump is using is very calculating.

He and his team studied each of the other candidates, their strengths and weaknesses and what they had to do to continue.

He used that information to egg them on and to let them expend money and energy to attrite each other, while he continued to suck up all the news cycles.

Mark Simone on 770 WABC Radio NY said to best the other day.

To paraphrase him, "South Carolina likes to see if you can take a punch before they will vote for you.

The 4 min takedown of both, Jeb Bush and Ted Cruz with no response sealed the deal".

Also the rant against George Bush & the Iraq War effectively took George out of the campaign as he had to cancel all his scheduled Townhalls in SC.

Now who is left, lets start with the 2 who aren't any threat, John Kasich & Ben Carson.

There is no need to be concerned them and they still have some use to suck up establishment votes.

NEXT TARGET....Marco Rubio. He has been the "Plan B" of the Donor Establishment, in case America still had a bad taste for their "Plan A" guy, Jeb Bush.
As the big donors move over to him, both they and him will be in the crosshairs of Team Donald.
Now that the Bush Family has been removed for the National Stage, Marco is target #1 and will not know what hit him.

In conclusion, it is in the best interests of Trump, Cruz, Kasich & Carson to take out Rubio and I think we will start to see that happening started in the next couple of days.

Just my Opinion Fedupjohn

Yeah. It’s a fine line
But imagine trying to get all the approvals and inspections and getting a major project built in NY or NJ without the “ cooperation” of the political bosses
Imagine Ted Cruz getting a wall built with no dealing or compromises with democrats
Not gonna happen

It just proves he plays the same game.

He is no different, as much as anyone foolish enough to believe so, than any other crooked Washington elite.

I take that back, he is slight different. He has a record of supporting liberal cause after liberal cause.

Anyone who votes for this man is just showing how foolish they are.

Maybe I’m just not as smart as the folks who voted for Romney and McCain and made the nation stronger

Anyone who doesn’t vote for Trump in the general will be showing how foolish they are. You can lead the fools!

“Donald Trump is pulling one over on you... Anyone who votes for this clown will regret it. Guaranteed.”

That is the fallacy of too few alternatives.

BTW Trump donated to Cruz too.

Spot on analysis. Trump is treating this like the biggest deal of his life and eliminating his competition one by one. I can't wait until he gets to Hillary.

It will be interesting if Trump makes a 'deal' with the RNC and their Mr Amnesty Golden Boy, if he can seal the nomination.

Super Tuesday will make or break the race for Cruz/Rubio.

And there’s another thing - he has the sense not to fall for leftist traps that true conservatives so easily fall for. For example he says get rid of Obamacare, let the markets compete across state lines, etc. - but then he adds that he won’t let the poor dying in the street, that the government will take care of these people. All the ‘true conservatives’ say horrors! single payer!, no different than Obamacare! So, because he’s smart enough to avoid liberal traps, and kind hearted enough to help people who are suffering (which real conservatives should want to do as well IMHO), he is accused of being a liberal. Sometimes I think conservatives are trying to lose.

Exactly. You just KNOW that if a Republican is against Obamacare that the Democrat will say "You don't care if people get sick and die." Trump saw that, recognized it and completely shuts down this argument before it's even made.

Trump is a master at playing the game. Remember what he did to Merv Griffin? He played Merv Griffin like a fiddle.

No one should ever underestimate Trump.

There are things I do not like about Trump; there are things about Trump that make me uneasy. But I’m beginning to think he may be “the real deal.”

Interesting times.

Random thoughts on a Sunday morning...

Congratulations to Mr. Trump for winning the South Carolina Primary...

Ben Shapiro was correct in stating that Trump needs both Rubio and Cruz to stay in the race. He can’t win without them fighting for second place...

I believe Mr. Trump will ultimately prevail and win the Republican nomination because of the above...

The outliers (Bush, Kasich and Carson) received 22.7% of the vote in South Carolina...a big question is where does that support go in future primaries (yes I’m assuming all three won’t be around anymore)...I can’t see enough support to go to any one candidate that would have flipped the state.

Now things that make you go hmmmm...

On the downside for Trump...there were 130,000+ more votes cast in South Carolina in the 2016 primary than there were in the 2012 primary...yet Mr. Trump received LESS votes than Newt Gingrich did in 2012.

If either Cruz or Rubio make a deal and one gets out of the race (and it has to be relatively soon) then all bets are off. In fact I’d probably put my money (not necessarily my vote) on the one that remained.

Interesting times indeed...

After 100% of SC is now in, here's my AVG GOP Presidential Primary poll numbers since September 1st. Starting after the NV caucus, I will track the Primary result averages only. They are the real thing...but they are now included in these number:

“Also the rant against George Bush & the Iraq War effectively took George out of the campaign as he had to cancel all his scheduled Townhalls in SC.”

This was a great strategic move. I think the best counter-move by Bush would have been to request that his family announce support for Trump. In fact, if the establishment republicans want to take Trump down, they should endorse Trump. I’m sure their hatred toward Cruz would not allow them to apply a sound strategy, so they will loose.

The Cruz/Trump voters will not go to Rubio. When those two patch up their differences the next POTUS will be decided.

Rush will be pimping for his Cabana Boy this week. You can count on it. I won’t be listening. Rush rides the Cheap Labor Express. Always has, I just chose to ignore it.

I am doubting that. He knows that a vote for the cabana boy is a vote against Cruz who he loves.
