Sen. Claire McCaskill said Monday that she has breast cancer.
"It was detected through a regular mammogram," the Missouri Democrat said in a post on Tumblr. "It's a little scary, but my prognosis is good and I expect a full recovery."
McCaskill said she would undergo treatment in St. Louis for the next three weeks. During that time, she plans to post online her positions on issues under consideration in the Senate.

Reaction to the illness was swift.
"Claire and I work together every day, and I certainly wish her and her family the very best as she deals with this difficult diagnosis," said Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri in a statement. "I will step in in any way I can to help while she seeks treatment, and hope she makes a speedy recovery."
Other colleagues joined in. "Praying for a quick and speedy recovery for @clairecmc" said a tweet from Sen. Lindsey Graham, a Republican of South Carolina.

I wish for her healing
It is time for this anti-gun, anti-freedom senator to take a leave of absence, since as i experienced, the chemo treatment can make you start babbling, repeating yourself, and becoming disoriented.
But then, she is a democratic senator, and might already be suffering such maladies day-to-day.
Some enemies all the US in united in fighting.
Prayers for McCaskill. Cancer in all of its forms is a total female dog.
Cancer is a beast. Good thing she is exempt from Obamacare, and best wishes for a full recovery.
Cancer knows no borders or boundaries and is disrespectful of families in general. Few are spared its horrible reach.

I wish Sen. McCaskill all the best. In fact, I think it would be a great idea if she resigned her seat to focus on her recovery and what I hope will be a long, happy, healthy life in retirement.
Way too much personal experiences here to mention going way back. Cancer of any kind is bad enough but none are more surviveable today than breast and prostate if folks get tested or recognize signs.
Unlikely at this point that she would want to give up her gold level health plan.

Arguably the best voice in the world. She could actually enunciate words in the "whistle range". NOBODY else could do that! They don't even teach opera singers to enunciate words in that range. About the closest to her range is Mariah Carey.

If by that you mean getting rid of the disease of liberalism - I'm all for it. Otherwise why waste sympathy on her? There are 231,00 new cases of breast cancer diagnosed annually in the USA. And going with the odds, about 25% of them are conservatives, so there are about 57,000 women who are more worthy of sympathy than some tax and spend statist democrat.
