Donald Trump: Ted Cruz 'Is Like a Little Baby'
CNN/Gant Daily ^ | 1 hour ago | staff

Posted on 02/23/2016 2:40:15 PM PST by drewh

Donald Trump on Tuesday called his GOP presidential rival Ted Cruz “a baby” as he dug in on his attacks against the Texas senator, one day after calling Cruz “sick.”

“I’ve met much tougher people than Ted Cruz. He is like a baby compared to some of the people I have to deal with. He is like a little baby: soft, weak, little baby by comparison,” Trump said at a campaign rally in Sparks, Nevada, after slamming Cruz yet again as “the single biggest liar I have ever dealt with.”

Trump later added, “I’d like to really win in Texas. Wouldn’t that be great? I love Texas. I love Texas. And I think now that (Cruz) has exposed himself as a nasty person who lies a lot, I think he’s going to go way, way down in Texas. So I think we have a shot in Texas.”

A message left with the Cruz campaign seeking comment was not immediately returned.

Trump has leveled an unrelenting barrage of personal attacks against Cruz, calling him everything from “unstable” to a “basket case” and accusing him of lying while also touting the Bible.

The attacks come as Cruz and his allies have laid into Trump’s stances on a number of issues important to conservatives, from Trump’s use of eminent domain laws for personal gain to the New York billionaire’s past support of abortion rights and additional gun control measures.

Trump has since changed his positions on abortion and gun rights.

And while Cruz’s ads use Trump’s own words against him, Trump has accused him of playing dirty.

The latest attack is reminiscent of Trump’s line of attack against former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, whom Trump branded as “low energy” over months of campaigning.

But with Bush now out of the race, Trump is looking for space to fill in his stump speech, which previously included multiple references to Bush’s “weak” nature — an effective foil for Trump’s brashness on the campaign trail.

He hinted at a potential target on Tuesday when he said “Marco Rubio is a nice young man.”

“He hasn’t hit me. No, no, no, he has not hit me. When he hits me, ugh, is he going to be hit. Actually, I can’t wait,” Trump said. “I hope he does (get nasty) because it’s more fun.”

If Cruz had run as a true ‘spirit filled’ happy warrior then the circumstances would have been much different for him. But he was true to himself... which started in his campaign for the Senate. Cruz was never really what he professed to be. Even suggesting that he argued ‘Heller’ before the Supreme Court when he only filed a ‘Brief’ - not good.

Trump will need to work with Cruz if he gets elected.

No he won't. He has already said he will work with the Republican leadership in the Senate, unlike Cruz. On the off chance that he doesn't get destroyed by Hillary as all of the polls are indicating, he will be working AGAINST Cruz to further the McConnell/Ryan agenda.

Trump reminds me of Biff from Back To The Future. Trump is the version of Biff that didn’t get the much needed beat-down.

Cruz will be lucky to carry a lead in Texas. If not Texas, he won’t be able to find a bellhop to carry his bags.

Why so glum, chum? I know just the thing. How about a joke?

Q: why do you never see a cruznadian at the beach?

A: because cats always try to bury them in the sand!

Here’s another...

Q: why does Teddy never wear snakeskin boots?

A: professional courtesy!

Cruz just hasn’t won me over with his campaign even though I loved the fact that he was a thorn in the side of the Senate. Now he’s a thorn in the side of the country, not as fun. Can’t figure out why he keeps going after Trump and rarely do I hear him attack Rubio. I suspect they are on the same team now

IMO Trumpo over Cruz in Texas would be a stretch, right?

Bingo.

All in all we should hope for a good showing for Teddy tonight. Make sure he continues to campaign and burn through that campaign stash. He won’t need it in 2018. No siree.

If Trump doesn’t start going after Rubio I’m going to start thinking that he’s a gopE plant.

It appears experience in the political process is teaching Trump that attacking his opponents is more profitable than treating them according to the teachings of Jesus.

What’s the Presbyterian doctrinal position on that again?

Also, do the point of Rubio not hitting Trump I must say he’s been wise from that perspective. He’ll ask Trump questions (i.e., Trump needs to get more specific with blah blah blah) but I haven’t heard him yet say some of the nastier things. I may have heard him say “Trump is not serious” earlier in the campaign. If I hear him say that again at this point I will lose respect for his campaign. By the way, to me he’s just another phony politician but his campaign against Trump has seemed fair to this point

“I heard TRUMP say that on the radio. Very demeaning. Very unprofessional.”

I will not vote for Trump for any office. I do not vote for democrats and trump has given me no reason to believe he is anything other than a liberal democrat. I believe he has a mental or personality disorder. I believe he is an extreme narcissist and that could be a symptom of being a sociopath.

Totally agree.

Trump proves the Bible true since it tells us that deception will grow in the last days!! Many people in our nation are hugely deceived. Just like those that elected odumbo.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! He FUNDED MCCONNELL'S RE ELECTION and EXPECTS to work WITH HIM.. NOT CRUZ.

Of course by that time FreeREpublic will be so liberal and a branch of DU and the Anti Cruz stone throwers will be one of the McConnell praisers and RINOS themselves. SAD.
