WHO IS PARTICIPATING IN THE DEBATE? Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson; U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas; Ohio Gov. John Kasich; U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, and businessman Donald Trump.
WHO IS MODERATING THE DEBATE? Wolf Blitzer of CNN will moderate the debate. Telemundo's Maria Celeste Arrarás, conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt and CNN's Chief Political Correspondent Dana Bash will also ask questions of the candidates.
HOW DID THE QUALIFY FOR THE DEBATE? Candidates needed to file a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission, be actively campaigning for the Republican nomination and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Have received support from at least 5 percent of those who attended the Republican Iowa caucuses.
- Have received at least 5 percent of the overall vote in the New Hampshire primary.
- Receive at least 5 percent of the overall vote in the South Carolina primary.
- Receive at least 5 percent support in the Nevada caucuses.

He’s the one who really cares about it and he will get it done.
A president cannot wave a wand but Cruz will work to defund Planned Parenthood and eventually change Roe vs. Wade.

Rubio and Trump are getting the crowd. Cruz is done. He’ll be lucky to hit 3rd in Texas alone.
It was funny, I don’t know how it plays outside of the debate. Rubio is goading him because Trump doesn’t rattled off “his PLAN” like all the politicians do, but most people have no comprehension of that wonky stuff - so not sure whether it matters.
Republicans who insist on nominating liberals elect democrats.

With this performance tonight, if Rubio is nominated...I stay home. What an a-hole.

So far this debate is terrible.
I don’t know who Rubio thinks he’s impressing, maybe the chicks in the audience, but he’s coming across poorly.

Harry Reid is not running for re-election, and will be out of office in early January.
The new president is sworn in at noon on January 20th.
The new president will not have to deal with Harry Reid.
Rubio is very much a beta male. Very weak effeminate voice, comes across as a naggy women.
Rubio just showed himself to be a wise ass, eating up his (new) contributors cheers. Won't work. Will be reported as a great moment, but only made him look juvenile.
