Trump: My immigration plans aren't set in stone; Parts are "negotiable"
Politico ^ | 03/01/2016 | Hanna Trudo

Posted on 03/01/2016 8:03:10 AM PST by SeekAndFind

Donald Trump says parts of his immigration proposals are “negotiable,” but only minor details about his border wall.

In an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity on Monday night, Trump responded to a question about a recent claim, first introduced by BuzzFeed earlier in the day, that he told The New York Times editorial board in an off-the-record tape-recorded meeting that he may not follow through with his proposed immigration measures if he is elected president.

“The New York Times is claiming today that they had an off-the-record conversation with you in January,” Hannity started.

“We had a board meeting, it was off-the-record, suddenly they leak it, it’s all over the place,” Trump said.

“They said it’s negotiable on the wall,” Hannity said in reference to Trump’s stance on Mexican immigration and his oft-stated promise to build a border wall.

“By the way it is negotiable. Things are negotiable,” Trump said. “I’ll make the wall 2 feet shorter or something.”

Trump was quick to add that the negotiation does not include nixing the idea altogether.

“Building it? Not negotiable.”

Would it be negotiable about the 11 million?” Hannity pressed. “Maybe let some people stay if they register in a period of time?”

“I would say this,” Trump answered. “We will work out some system that’s fair, but we either have a country or we don’t. We need a border. We need a wall.”

You are so right. Each time he makes a flip flop on what he said previous, it is astonishing how the supporters find a way to defend it.....Non negotiable has now become negotiable....

Maybe I will, Maybe I won't, I can change anytime I want. That last statement by him should be the very 1st warning that he is not sincere on anything he says.

KKK is going to bite him big time, 70 year old man does not know who David Duke is, and there may be some in that group that would be ok? WHAT? Hillary has found her fodder, don't blame us who oppose him, this one is not on us.

As for walls, they have ladders and bulldozers in Mexico.

They could storm the wall in groups of say 10,000 or more.

We should encourage people to self-deport by requiring them to have been in their native country in all 30 days prior to the 2016 election in any future immigration reform bill.

Since Hillary can get into a vote-losing mood easily, staying here would be very risky.

We are likely to still control Congress.

We can probably prosecute Hillary for perjury after she leaves office if she falsely swears on her inauguration oath.

“I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States...”

Part of her duties include enforcing the laws and an repelling an invasion if the request is made by a state.

Negotiate, rofl. That word also means Maybe, maybe I will, maybe I won’t, and I can change my mind anytime I want, to voters STILL think I am telling the truth and they still LUB me, I can do no wrong, so there.

You're completely making this up based on a quote taken out of context from the Hannity show by CNN.

You have it right. There is always a negotiation to get a law through Congress. I would also suggest that simply not breaking laws is not enough I would add that they have to be welfare free for several years (negotiable) and their kids have to be making normal progress in school (negotiation about what is normal progress) and no gang member support, and working at some job. (non-negotiable). Finally, normal progress towards learning English. If they have been here long enough, an English exam might be preferable.

JEFF SESSIONS: DONALD TRUMP’S IMMIGRATION POLICY IS ‘EXACTLY THE PLAN AMERICA NEEDS’

Sen. Jeff Sessions, the intellectual leader of the conservative movement and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s subcommittee on Immigration and the National
Interest, issued a statement on Sunday afternoon praising 2016 Republican frontrunner Donald Trump’s immigration policy plan for America.

“This is exactly the plan America needs,” Sessions said in response to Trump’s plan. “Not only would the plan outlined in this paper work, but more quickly than many realize.

“Most importantly, this plan reestablishes the principle that American’s immigration laws should serve the interests of its own citizens.

“For too long, ‘immigration reform’ plans in Washington have served the special interests at the expense of working Americans. By contrast, this plan puts the needs of working Americans foremost, and develops an effective strategy for improving their wages and job prospects.

“Crucially, this plan includes an emphasis on lifting struggling minority communities, including our immigrant communities, out of poverty — by preventing corporations
from bringing in new workers from overseas to replace them and drive down wages.

“When the labor market is oversupplied, it tilts the balance of power away form workers and towards employers. In combination with a smart, fair trade policy this proposal would reinvigorate the middle class.

“Polling shows this plan will appeal broadly to all segments of the electorate: prioritizing the just demands of loyal, everyday Americans who have been shunned by a
governing elite.”

Trump’s plan is designed to put American workers first, and calls for halting of green cards until Americans are employed again—and pushes for a significant slowdown

in the issuance of donor-class-craved H-1B visas, which have been used by many companies like Disney and Southern California Edison among others to replace Americans
with cheaper, foreign workers.

Trump consulted Sessions in putting together the plan, and now that he has the support of such an influential lawmaker who’s the key leader in Congress on this issue, it’s unlikely that anyone will ever be able to legitimately criticize him for lack of substance again.

Trump is currently the runaway Republican frontrunner, and as the months between now and voting slip away, predictions that he’d fall apart keep falling short.

Here’s a little something to recharge the trumpettes’ batteries:

1. A GOP-e smear tactic.
2. A New York businessman has to go along to get along.
3. He promised the wall is non-negotiable.
4. This has been posted 76,932 times in the last hour.
5. This is just The Donald’s brilliant way of bringing to light this important issue.

Making a deal where you come out on top is a lot different from making a deal where you ask Reid and Pelosi “What do you want and we’ll sign it?”

Insert Trumps name for Obama in this:

This has been around for some time via emails, but it is so appropriate in this election as well, to be forewarned is to be forearmed.

... "The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry, It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President. ...

Making “deals” with Reid and Pelosi is a waste of time.

He heard it alright, master manipulator of deceit, we have on of those expiring in Jan. we don't need another to fill the office.

This FITS perfectly, just substitute Trump for Obamas name.:

"The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a citizenry ... The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made him their President. ...""""....

Has this in my email many times.

Lazy leftists want to keep their illegal help.

We want to keep most of our money.

A federal income tax Constitutional cap/Constitutional birth clause modification/legalization deal is possible.

I think a law should be passed before November and placed on Obama’s desk so his failure to sign it will cost Democrats the votes of Hispanics, lazy leftists and taxpayers.

Each illegal who paid US income tax of both at least 80% of the amount owed and over $200/year for at least three years prior to 2015 would be allowed to stay until April 1, 2017 and after the Constitutional amendments been added to the Constitution.

Each illegal will be allowed to earn $6/week for each state that has ratified the amendment, after the first twenty.

Any excess having to be paid as a special tax to the IRS by the employer or earner within 30 days of it being earned in order to keep the illegal eligible to stay.

We will kindly allow Democratic run states to have the honor of ratifying first to make ratification easier.

For example, some Mexican nationals may come over the border and work on the North side of the wall before going back to the South at days end.

Or we may see an increase in the legal immigration of Eastern Europeans or perhaps Poles.

You know. Stuff like that.

No defense........the truth hurts and the worst is yet to come. That KKK thing once he is nominated, is not going away, they may not like it but that is just a fact, DT has done it himself.

His mouth is his own worst enemy, but so be it....we washed our hands.
