I just can’t see a path for him now. The South was his path.

I pray Newt comes out more and speaks good about Trump - it will really be a great thing.

I agree. Newt has been very positive about Trump lately. Newt knows a Big Dawg when he sees one. .

Why are people suggesting a broken convention. One candidate is winning the vast majority of the states. Of the remaining “big” states...I can guarantee and will bet money that Trump will win the following:

New York, North Carolina, Arizona, New Jersey. I would probably bet money on Michigan and thats being extremely conservative.

I think a brokered convention is nearly inevitable.

Nope. It will be brokered but not at the convention. Trump will win the nomination and then the GOP will run a straw man “constitutionalist” 3rd Party candidate to try to throw the election to Hillary. Romney and his stooge Sasse are already laying the ground work for this.

[I feel quite optimistic about Cruz’s future.]

I believe TED CRUZ will be the next POTUS.

He is the most successful thus far agains Trump.

Trump is not conservative.

He’s an American. I’m weary of the ‘conservative’ label. We sent many conservatives to DC in the last couple of elections. Where did that get us? How do you like that Paul Ryan beard he sported for awhile ... and his lack of backbone? Didn’t take long for him to change.

I’m weary of these people who scream ‘not conservative’....and attack their frontrunner and say they won’t vote for him. Why? If they truly cared about their country, they would surely vote for Trump over Hillary...yet they say they won’t.

That tells me they are more worried about their lobbyist money and keeping their personal agendas going. This goes for the media too.

I’m sick of all of them. That’s why Cruz and Rubio won’t win. People these days aren’t worried about the label of being “conservative”. It has proved to be meaningless when we send people to DC and they don’t follow through.

The hope is that Trump will follow through. I pray he will.

“In seven out of the ten states reporting tonight— Cruz got more than 20 percent of the vote.

Trumps best performance is Massachusetts.

Thousands of democrats turned out to vote for Trump there.”

One day, you will watch this prophetic movie from around 1960 and know that you were duped by the ultimate carnival barker. Check it out sometime. Andy Griffith in "A Face in the Crowd."

If things stay as is right now, Trump will get the majority of three more state delegations, putting his number up to four (4).

It looks like Alabama is a lock, since foam boy finished below 20% and Trump finished first in most, if not all, CD.

Carson didn’t get to the 5% floor in Massachusetts. Trump is close enough to 50% where he could get the extra delegate (subject to rounding) to obtain a majority.

If Trump holds on in Vermont and Rubio remains under 20%, he may win that state 9-7 over Kasich.

Trump also has a shot at exceeding the 50% delegate threshold in Georgia and Tennessee depending on how many CDs he won. In those states, Rubio and Cruz exceeded the 20% floor and are eligible for state-wide delegates.

Assuming Rubio remains under 20% in Texas, Cruz will notch his first majority-delegate state.

You keep putting this as a Conservatives vs Trump and that’s not correct. The entire Trump phenomenon is about the Country Class e.g. “We the People” vs. the Ruling Class, using Anthony Codevilla’s terminology. Another term for the Ruling Class often used on FR is the “Uniparty”. Conservatives are not alone in opposing the Ruling Class, and in fact some “conservatives” are an integral part of it.

In sports you always know who the opponent is, but this isn’t sports. Those supporting Trump see him as the best and maybe only hope of taking power back from the Ruling Class and putting the nation back on track applying the conservative principles that you can hear Trump explain in any of his speeches, e.g. strong national defense, fair and smart trade, enforcing our borders, supporting law enforcement, returning education to local control, and replealing and replacing Obamacare.

If that’s not conservative enough for you, you must understand that it is for the vast majority of us.

Trump still needs another 1000 delegates to clinch the nomination.

He better start figuring out to get conservatives on his side. I see how popular he is with democrats and the people of Massachusetts .
