Endgame for Rubio? Team Cruz promising to make a “strong play” for Florida
Hot Air ^

If they’re serious about this, it’s next to impossible to see how Rubio beats Trump there. And if Rubio doesn’t beat Trump there, it’s next to impossible to see how he’s the nominee, even at a brokered convention.

“For the candidates who have not yet won a state, who have not racked up significant delegates, I ask you to prayerfully consider uniting,” Cruz said.

Going forward, Cruz’s team plans to make a play for Florida, Rubio’s must-win state, hoping to benefit from a cage match there between Trump and Rubio.

“We will actively campaign in Florida,” said a senior Cruz aide. “A food fight between those two in Florida, that’s a good opportunity. We’re gonna make a strong play in Florida.”

Cruz is only in FL to help Rubio win it.

Yeah, I heard that Rubio ad here in NE FL. During Savage. Rubio is peeing money away because that ad is not going to be very effective for the Savage Demo. LOL.

In one possible universe and two years into a Trump term and Congress refuses to work with him and he is down to name calling and bravado or worse tacks back left where he came from, I wonder if any Trumpers will have buyers remorse?

Trump won a lot of rural Minnesota. Rubio took the Twin cities.

Maybe. But I already have buyers remorse with Cruz for supporting him for many years only to have him campaign in the U. S. Senate for the most lawless POTUS in history . On one of the great issues of our time, TPA/TPP, Ted Cruz stood with Barack Obama and Goldman Sachs and against us. For that he will forever be UntrusTED in my book.

All the campaign crap in SC was so disgusting. All the negative ads on TV, in print, the radio, etc. Can only imagine and cringe at how bad it’s going to be for Floridians these next couple of weeks. Good luck, folks! Like Kasich said a short while back, fasten your seat belts, we’re in for a wild ride (or some such).

Smart move. I agree Cruz needs to focus on Florida. Defeating Rubio on his home turf will eliminate his candidacy. And, seeing as how Rubio is only marginally popular in Florida, it is possible.

Rubio’s negative ads will push some conservatives from Trump to CRUZ, IMO. Not him. LOL.

I think FL will finish up similar to VA. That’s the most similar to state to FL we’ve had so far. And Trump won that 35/32/17. Rubio will be strong in South Florida but I don’t see him making up for that in the rest of the state.

The key will be the area from Tampa across the state to Daytona thru Orlando. Who wins that area wins Florida generally speaking.

That is pretty much the situation we have had since 2010 when republicans took the house and Obama has refused to work with republicans. While it isn't great, a deadlocked congress is still a win for conservatives.

So how do you feel about Reagan’s 1986 amnesty? Does that one thing undo his conservative credentials? If so you are a tough crowd and will not like what you are advocating.

How do you feel about Ted Cruz being up to his eyeballs in donor class money? I have a hard time believing he will really stand with us and not do what the guy who cut him a check for $10 million wants him to do. Sorry.

That is your American right. I always say though, if you don’t vote you cannot complain. So if Trump does not get the nod we won’t hear from you for 4 years right?

If you think Trump does not have deep pocket backers (the banks he owes millions upon millions to) you need to see your doctor for a medication change.
