LITTWIN: No Super Tuesday for Colorado’s Trump-hating GOP
coloradoindependent.com ^ | MIKE LITTWIN

Posted on 03/02/2016 6:14:45 PM PST by ObamahatesPACoal

We knew back in September that the Colorado Republican Party had made a major error when it dumped the presidential preference poll in the midst of maybe the wildest Republican race ever.

It was a huge gaffe, a blow against small-d democracy, a self-inflicted wound made worse when party chair Steve House — having survived the Coffman-Tancredo coup attempt — explained the decision by saying he was worried too many people would turn out for the caucuses. As I might have mentioned at the time, we knew Republicans were trying to tamp down the Democratic vote, but who’d have thought they didn’t want Republicans voting either?

It was a huge gaffe, all right. But we’re only now learning, on the eve of the caucuses, just how massive the gaffe actually was.

At the time, the only reasonable explanation for the unilateral disarmament was that party leaders were afraid Colorado Republican voters, left to their own devices, would make a statewide leap onto the Trumpian bandwagon. So in order to save Colorado some embarrassment and for the leaders to maybe save their phony-baloney jobs, party brass decided that direct voting was overrated.

You should be happy!

Colorado hates Trump.

All caucus discussions (NOT straw polls) had little support for Trump.

The insiders like caucus because they can throw their voters to 1 of the top 2.

The only thing I know is Tancredo & Stev King back Ted Cruz; but Jeff Sessions & Kobach back Trump.

I wonder if Secretary Kobach can make sure the Kansas vote is not a fraud against Trump.

the CO GOP has been a joke the entire time i’ve lived here (since 2003). election after election, the democRATS continually increase and consolidate their power. these are democRATS who should be easy to beat (e.g. Gov. Hickenlooper is a radical leftwinger who once employed a cop-killing illegal alien as a dishwasher in one of his restaurants, for crying out loud!), but the GOP here is constantly outsmarted and outmaneuvered by the opposition. it would be funny if it wasn’t destroying the quality of life here. an endless stream of libtards from CA, NY, and IL are moving here for the legal pot and turning this state to an easy democRAT presidential victory every 4 years.

Rotten to the core. I know a “Republican” who has lived in Colorado for a few years and is involved in local politics. He’s definitely not a conservative in any way, shape or form. He used to live in the San Francisco, CA area. It figures. They’re moving in on us.

In my precinct most people liked Cruz with a minority supporting Rubio or Trump.

So how did the delegate selection work without a presidential poll?

“In my precinct most people liked Cruz with a minority supporting Rubio or Trump.”

Same here. But the whole thing was rigged. Some party hack decided he had the right to personally conduct ALL 9 caucuses at my location as a single entity in the school cafeteria, instead of the way it was always done in the past: individual caucuses meeting in individual rooms. During the opening prayer, the SOB spent most of his time attacking Trump (though not by name).

Then the SOB called for a speaker for each candidate, but they could have only two minutes. I spoke for Trump. But then there was a “discussion” where certain people were allowed to stand up and attack Trump, but I was shouted down when I asked to rebut.

It is clear that the caucuses in Colorado are a complete farce and are rigged for establishment-type Republicans to attend. Because the GOP had cancelled the Presidential straw poll, GOP caucus turnout was pathetically minuscule as usual. The Dem caucus turnout on the other hand was MASSIVE, with the numbers so high, most people never even got in the door.

At any rate, I’m going to the County Assembly and will read my pro-Trump statement (which really includes Cruz as well), even though I’m sure I’ll be hooted down:

My statement is this:

I want MY President to stand up for the U.S. against all enemies (and even some so-called friends).

I want MY President to respect our Constitution.

I want MY President to make sure we actually have a country by controlling our borders, and stopping and reversing the invasion of our country by foreign nationals.

I want MY President to build a wall.

I want MY President to rebuild our military and remove the LGBTXYZABC generals Obama installed and put hard core warriors back in charge.

I want My President to curb the EPA.

I want My President to curb the Labor Department.

I want MY President to curb the Education Department.

I want MY President to curb the Civil Rights Commission.

I want MY Presiden to curb the IRS and all other Federal agencies from making political attacks.

I want MY President to curb the Federal Communications Commission, turn the Internet back over to free enterprise, and take ICANN back from the despots of the world.

I want MY President to destroy ISIS.

I want MY President to halt common core.

I want MY President to institute voter ID nationally.

I want MY President to repeal and replace Obamacare.

I want MY President to start mining and burning coal again.

I want MY President to repeal ALL of Obama’s executive orders.

I want MY President to stand up for traditional American values and tell the PC crowd they can kiss his sweet behind.

I want MY President to revoke 99% of all regulations Obama and Bush promulgated.

I want my President to stop the attacks on Christianity in our country and stop pandering to the d@mn Muslims.

I want MY President to support ALL Federal laws equally and quit picking and choosing the ones he likes and doesn’t like.

I want MY President to stand up for Israel and tell the Palestinians to take a hike.

I want MY President to speak harshly AND carry a D@MN BIG stick.

I want MY President to bow to no foreign head.

I want MY President to shake the hands of no tin-pot communist dictators.

I want MY President to support our police.

I want MY President to support the 2nd Amendment the same amount as all of the other Amendments.

I want MY President to be color blind, supporting ALL Americans equally, and stop treating some Americans more equally than others.

I want MY President to make appointments and promotions in our government based solely on merit, totally ignoring race, creed, gender, color and sexual preference.

I want MY President to stop all crony capitalism funded out of the U.S. Treasury.

I want MY President to audit the Federal Reserve Bank.

I want MY President to withdraw ALL Federal funding from sanctuary cities until they repeal their anti-American laws.

I want MY President to prosecute Hillary Clinton.

I want MY President to prosecute the Wall Street scum who operate our financial markets as their own personal, rigged casinos.

I want MY President to owe no quid pro quo “favors” to big campaign “donors”.

I want MY President beholden only to the people, not to the party apparatchiks or the oligarchs or the plutocrats.

AND FINALLY, I don’t give a rat’s behind about “Dignity” or any of that other squishy, mushy, elitist BS!

We gathered I our precinct, went through local business and caucus business (officers for the evening, etc..) the nominations for 4 delegates, 2 alternates. I was elected as a delegate to the Jefferson Co convention as a delegate along with 5 others. The real race was for delegate/alternate since we had 6 people running. We didn’t have to state who we supported , but we all did. 4/6 supported Cruz as #1, and one each chose Rubio and Trump as #1. It was all very civil. The Cruz people came out on top. Out of us 6, 2 go as delegates and 2 as alternates to both the 7th CD and same 2 and 2 to the CO State a Republican convention. I and another gentleman were both the delegates to the 7th CD and CO state delegates after a further two elections. The alternates to these two conventions: the 7th CD and State convention final results were 3 Cruz people and 1 Trump person. NEXT step is the State and 7th CD district conventions. Where electors will ACTUALLY be nominated and elected to the National Republican Convention. So it’s not settled yet, but I go onto the next step to support Cruz! It’s all very retail politics and my first caucus.

Sounds great! Did you figure this out on your own or is the Cruz organization helping get delegates trained and into the running?

Today I spoke with a friend who attended one of the Colorado caucuses yesterday. He said that a large percentage of the people who were publicly pro-Cruz turned out to be pro-Trump in private conversation. Peer pressure.
