Pelosi warns GOP about booting Trump
The Washington Examiner ^ | 3/3/2016 | SUSAN FERRECHIO

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi warned Thursday that it wouldn't be wise for Republicans to broker a deal that crowns another Republican candidate as the party's presidential nominee if Donald Trump earns the majority of delegates in the upcoming primaries.

"To the Republicans, if they think they are going to upset the verdict of the people in terms of the election, that can really become a very big Pandora's box," Pelosi said. "If someone has the majority of the delegates, from the votes of the people, I think you change that to your peril."

Rumors have swirled in the Capitol about a plot to dethrone Trump, who has angered the GOP establishment with his brash campaign style, proposal to ban Muslim entrants and a pledge to build a wall on the Mexican border. Republicans have said nothing officially about any plans to use the July Republican National Convention to contest a Trump win.

Instead, GOP leaders are taking shots at Trump hoping to hurt his performance in the remaining primaries in order to deprive him of the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Yeah, but they are. Look at the demographics of his primary voters. Evangelicals and pro-lifers are just like all other freedom loving Americans who do not want Hillary as president.

She clearly doesn’t want the Republicans to win, and just as clearly is buying into the conventional wisdom that Hillary will beat Trump. THAT is why she said this, not for ANY other reason.

But she’s wrong in her base assumption that Trump can’t beat the witch (well, the OTHER witch), and thus we can actually take her advice.

Like McCain & Romney she wants to ensure the non Trump supporters are less likely to support Trump and vote for him in the general election.

What better way then to imply she is okay with Trump. So this really is an attempt to offer assistance to Hillary.

Problem is, given the vitriol Trump haters spew, leads me to believe she just may be successful with her subterfuge. Giving them the impression that it helps Hillary win the general election based upon polls that are really way to early to give accurate gauges, is her true motivation.

Reality is that neither Hillary nor Sanders are bringing in big numbers to the primaries. Just the opposite is true for Republicans. The number of crossovers from Hillary far outweighs the crossovers for Hillary, and my guess is zilch for Sanders. Young people may not go to the polls in the general election because they will feel, and perhaps rightly so, that Hillary stole the primaries.

There is no proof that a Trump Presidency would in any way benefit the Democrats, except in the minds of the Trump detractors. But if she can convince enough Trump detractors to stay at home, then maybe, just maybe it will benefit a Hillary candidacy. At lest it means they may be able to perpetrate another cheat against American citizens with fraudulent votes if it is at least close.

I would ask Pelosi why do the Dems then have superdelegates? In such numbers that basically the party picks the Dem nominee?

She’s right. If the GOP somehow strips Trump of his justly-earned nomination, I will stay home in November.

And so will millions of us. That of course would hand the White House to Hillary Clinton.

In Washington, the Uniparty is of one mind about the next President.

No, I think she’s just as scared as the rats in the GOPe are. The electorate is on a hair trigger right now.

She knows if the GOPe does this, there will be a lot of collateral damage.

Pelosi probably has insider information on GOP plans to create a brokered convention and pick an insider candidate, perhaps Ryan or Romney.

She is trying to suck up to the Trump supporters with the hope they will vote Democrat.

She’s confused. She thinks Trump is a Democrat. Too much silicone pumped into her upper parts. Pelosi should climb back on her broome and sly away to San Francisco and not interrupt when adults are talking - even if she IS right.

Pelosi should butt off. Why?? Because her party did the same thing in 2008,having broker convention in Denver led to Obama won.
