Paul Ryan 'Laughed Out Loud' At Donald Trump's 'Pay A Big Price' Threat
NPR ^ | 3 Mar 16 | Susan Davis

House Speaker Paul Ryan said he "laughed out loud" at Donald Trump's Super Tuesday comment that the Wisconsin Republican would "pay a big price" if he couldn't work with him.

"Sometimes, reality is stranger than fiction around here these days," Ryan told reporters at his weekly press conference. The speaker said he watched Trump's comments from his office. Trump did not elaborate on his Ryan comment.

Ryan has publicly rebuked Trump twice during this presidential nomination contest. First, for calling for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S., and then this week for Trump's failure to distance himself quickly enough from white supremacists who support his campaign. Trump stated he disavowed those groups.

Ryan says he is committed to working with whoever the voters decide is the Republican nominee. He described himself as a "good-natured guy" who can work with anyone.

Ryan's comments were in stark contrast to his friend and former running mate Mitt Romney, who at the same time Thursday, issued a broadside against Trump.

Romney said the real estate mogul is unfit for office and suggested a contested convention may be in order to make sure he does not become the nominee.

Trump is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination with more state wins and more delegates than any other GOP contender. Party leaders, however, are reluctant to grant Trump that status.

Meanwhile, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., told reporters Thursday that House Republicans fostered a climate that allowed Trump to rise.

Congress critters who express contempt for the will of the voters tend to have short careers. The Speaker would do well to consider how he got the job.

Trump will go to DC and be having them pull their pants down and expose the corruption of sweetheart deals for their personal enrichment while they screwed the American workers sending their jobs abroad.

Trump will expose the insider trading of favors to lobbiest that has stripped this country of its economic strength, best paying jobs, and sold out to the teachers unions making our schools #30 in the world.

They are afraid Trump won’t sign bills that help the few at the expense of America and her citizens. That is why they don’t want him in the White House.

That’s a calculation that every politician makes. If Trump wins (gag) with 51% of the vote there’s 49% of the population that didn’t want him for a President. Ryan can run numbers as well as anyone else.

This isn’t meant to be snarky, buttt, Trump called Cruz nasty and unlikable in Congress. I guess now we get to see how likable Trump is in similar situation with asshats like Ryan and McConnell.

Yeh nothing like Felito Cruz who still hasn’t shown us the face of God. And nothing screams credibility like a shaming letter or letting Glenn the chithouse mouse Beck swear you in prematurely on a Mormon compass. LOL!

True.

Something else really bothers me about this guy. He made $174,000 a year as a Congressman until he became Speaker last fall, and now makes $223,500.

But on his salary he purchased a mansion, the one behind the wall he built that you can see in the back of the photo.

It is common knowledge in Washington that members of Congress and members of the Senate are the biggest Insider Traders on the planet.

But they are above the law.

Congress Tells Court That Congress Can’t Be Investigated for Insider Trading

Old Weeping Whiskey Breath left the House a rich man.

And yet these guys have the nerve to cut benefits to disbled veterans. That was overturned, but only because of the public outcry. Now Congress has voted to "reform" military retirement, which means a massive screw job. They are voting to increase the cost of military healthcare, and have voted to cut funding for commissaries and other benefits that were hard earned.

They are a bunch of snakes, and I for one am glad Trump scares them.

While I have no respect for Ryan personally, his office does deserve respect. I support Trump but he needs to walk that statement back.
