Donald Trump looked like a suspect being cross-examined on the witness stand before a suspicious jury.
His well-prepared inquisitors pried at his business dealings, raised doubts about his political consistency and even presented evidence likening him to a con man. It was an audaciously thorough, and at times painful, grilling that will now be chewed on by a jury of his peers.
If the 11th Republican presidential debate on Thursday night in Detroit doesnt halt the front-runners parade to the nomination, its hard to imagine what will.
In the most intimate setting yet with just four GOP candidates on a stage Trump faced his harshest series of sustained, piercing questioning to date, courtesy of Fox News trio of unrelenting moderators. On top of that, he was forced to fend off intense flares of incoming fire from Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, each of whom are desperate to halt his momentum

But first Rubio, and then Cruz went after him. Every answer either of those two gave included Trump in some fashion. They couldn't stick to their policies and positions and distinguish themselves.
That's when Trump went ballistic. I saw it as Trump saying, "So, you boys want to go to the matts. Let's go to the matts."
And boom. Next thing you know, we've got "Little Marco" and "Lyin' Ted".
I'm sorry if you don't feel this way, but I think THAT'S the kind of fight America needs.
I was perfectly comfortable with his answers. considering he was basically surrounded by hostile parties, I think he did pretty well. Few people could have withstood that kind of attack.
I know. They came at him with flamethrowers last night and probably burned down the whole house.
Last nights “debate” was worthless.
Rubio and Cruz are nothing more than ankle biters now. Trump has to defend himself. Kicking them wouldn’t be politically correct.
I support Trump.
Actually what happened last night boasted Trump and showed to voters that he can take the heat in the kitchen.
He took everything they had and stood tall.
Cruz is back by GOPe donors and has former Busbots on his campaign staff.
FoamBoy Rubio looked childish, his numbers will fall. No way he wins FL in spite the $25 million ad buy.
Citing polls isn’t a “substantive” answer. Neither is bragging about how great everything will be.
Yeah. We’ve graduated from “boxers or briefs?”.
less than that probably.
I fell asleep. Past my bedtime. In talking to my parents - they felt Trump won - why? Because they others attacked him.
Unfazed? He was babbling.
I’m kind of seeing it this way...trump is being vetted because he is being seen as the nominee and perhaps he is being tested, tortured twisted etc every which way to see if he can hold up to the dems. Just a passing thought. I am hoping that this is what’s happening and the GOP is not as sinister as we are all thinking. I found it interesting that it was asked if the others would stand behind Trump if he was our nominee, rather than being asked if they would stand behind our nominee whoever it was.
WALLACE: Mr. Trump, Romney also talked about your position on race, and the controversy over your failure to denounce David Duke on Sunday. You have repeatedly disavowed him since then, but I’d like to go deeper than that. What are your views on the Klu Klux Klan, and white supremacists?
Really? FNC is f’ing pathetic. And I’m a Cruz supporter.
At one point last night I thought for sure Trump was going to reach over and pull little Rubios hair. He deserved it.
I was ringing my hands as I watched!
KELLY: OK, Senator Cruz, you say that you are the true conservative in this race. But 15 states have voted now, and you have won only four of them. You have lost repeatedly with what is supposed to be your core voter groups, including evangelicals and conservatives.
Hasn’t your brand of conservatism been rejected by an electorate that appears to be more taken with Mr. Trump’s populist message?
FUMK.
That sould be "the Wringer," a device once on a washing machine with two rollers designed to squeeze water out of the clothes for line drying. Wringers disappeared with the electric dryer. The idiom remains.
I'd bet this idiot author has a college degree. So probably does his "editor" at a national news magazine. Sigh.
WALLACE: Senator Rubio, you have taken to calling Mr. Trump a con artist who portrays himself as a hero to working people while he’s really been, in your words, “sticking it” to the American workers for 40 years. But he has built a big company that employs thousands of people. Question. How many jobs have you created?
Fair question, but it will never be asked of Bern/Hill.
And this from US News. No excuse, just shoddy...
The massive cabal that has coalesced against Trump will, at some time, send him a vieled message to surrender, his answer would be...NUTS!!!
