But his diciest moments came during interchanges not with Rubio or Cruz – but Fox’s Megyn Kelly, with whom Trump clashed memorably seven months ago in the first primary debate of the 2016 cycle, when she pressed him on why he had previously made derogatory remarks about women.

This time, Kelly, like a competent attorney, came armed with even more evidence, including videotape and court documents.

One of the most memorable moments of the night was when Kelly rolled three pieces of tape showing Trump taking opposite positions on the same issue within just a matter of days. It displayed him giving contrary answers on whether to leave U.S. troops to fight in Afghanistan, whether Syrian refugees should be allowed into the country and whether the Bush administration lied about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq

I think we went one debate too far. That wasn’t helpful.

I have to support Donald Trump because the other two WILL ABSOLUTELY be forced to face court challenges regarding their eligibility and NBC status.

Yet, at no time in the modern era, has any DemocRAT candidate been subject to the same degree of scrutiny, either by the media or the GOP.

Hillary! wouldn’t be able to show her face in public if her dealings received half the level of attention as the foreign object on Ted Cruz’ lip last night.

The big winner last night was Hillary Clinton.

**************

Possible as the GOP seems to be able to disable itself with in fighting. It depends upon
how the GOP jells once the nominating convention is over. If it turns out to be a knock
down drag out affair then the dems may win again.

The lack of professionalism by FOX journalists is being reported with barely contained glee by rival CNN!

From the article:

The goal was to try to figure out if Trump – a quasi-populist who has run awry of traditional GOP positions on a litany of issues – had a core.

His core was revealed to be pragmatism: “I’ve never seen a successful person who wasn’t flexible,” he said, unapologetically.

Did anyone notice that Trump started with a much more civil tone last night? Seemed he tried to stick to the issues, and be substantive in his answers.

But first Rubio, and then Cruz went after him. Every answer either of those two gave included Trump in some fashion. They couldn't stick to their policies and positions and distinguish themselves.

That's when Trump went ballistic. I saw it as Trump saying, "So, you boys want to go to the matts. Let's go to the matts."

And boom. Next thing you know, we've got "Little Marco" and "Lyin' Ted".

I'm sorry if you don't feel this way, but I think THAT'S the kind of fight America needs.

I support Trump.

Actually what happened last night boasted Trump and showed to voters that he can take the heat in the kitchen.

He took everything they had and stood tall.

Cruz is back by GOPe donors and has former Busbots on his campaign staff.

FoamBoy Rubio looked childish, his numbers will fall. No way he wins FL in spite the $25 million ad buy.

I fell asleep. Past my bedtime. In talking to my parents - they felt Trump won - why? Because they others attacked him.

KELLY: OK, Senator Cruz, you say that you are the true conservative in this race. But 15 states have voted now, and you have won only four of them. You have lost repeatedly with what is supposed to be your core voter groups, including evangelicals and conservatives.

Hasn’t your brand of conservatism been rejected by an electorate that appears to be more taken with Mr. Trump’s populist message?

FUMK.

Trump Put Through the Ringer in GOP Debate

That sould be "the Wringer," a device once on a washing machine with two rollers designed to squeeze water out of the clothes for line drying. Wringers disappeared with the electric dryer. The idiom remains.

I'd bet this idiot author has a college degree. So probably does his "editor" at a national news magazine. Sigh.

WALLACE: Senator Rubio, you have taken to calling Mr. Trump a con artist who portrays himself as a hero to working people while he’s really been, in your words, “sticking it” to the American workers for 40 years. But he has built a big company that employs thousands of people. Question. How many jobs have you created?

Fair question, but it will never be asked of Bern/Hill.

The massive cabal that has coalesced against Trump will, at some time, send him a vieled message to surrender, his answer would be...NUTS!!!

Trump should not have gone to this debate. EVERYONE knew that it would be a massive trap, and that he’d be debating not only his opponents, but also that bleeding hater, Kelly.

Yeah, getting grilled as the front runner is par for the course, but I think that most lynchings had a greater element of fairness than that clown show.

I can’t wait for little Marco Foamboy to get his arse whipped in Florida on the 15th. That’ll shut his trap.

Facing live fire is the value of contested primaries. It makes for stronger candidates.
