How could everybody get it so wrong?
Washington Times ^ | 3/3/16 | Wesley Pruden

Posted on 03/04/2016 2:12:03 PM PST by Albion Wilde

The list of “experts,” “analysts,” self-appointed “strategists” and other know-it-alls who were wrong about Donald Trump is a long one, and nobody is as ignorant of why the Donald has had such an appeal and such staying power as the pundit who is paid to know everything, and never does...

The smart set discounts experience, valuing only theory. Politico surveyed several of his colleagues, who have mostly taken to fainting couches in recovery rooms across the precincts of the mainstream media, so called...

Some of the lions pretend to have learned a lesson, but it’s not that they were wrong, it was the people who were wrong and stubbornly unwilling to be educated. Some of the pundits are clinging to the hope that the Donald will be stopped and punditry will be redeemed...

So called pundits start out with the premise that you must protect the establishment.

It’s real simple.

We want the invasion stopped.

Donald Trump stepped up and said he would.

Yes he’s pretty spot on. I for one will be thankful for March 15th to come and go so Trump will be the obvious winner of the primary and we can move on. I’m sick of it. I want to get on to general election campaign.

Is there any doubt left that the Republican Party and its media lackeys have been stage managed by forces and factions that spit upon the founding principles of this nation. Oligarchs - America’s aristocracy, American’s monarchy, unmerited power derived from birthright- not ability or intelligence or ethical standards. A state of mind governed by the accumulation of wealth and control of human destinies with allegiance to no nation, no people, no history, no tradition other than the exercise of dominion over the minds of otherwise free and unfettered beings. Now it is their time to watch America rise up in defiance standing shoulder to shoulder against the very evils that our Founding Fathers warned us against in word and deed. Sons of Liberty, grab your manhood and advance upon the forces of Ultimate Stupidity.

Trump wins open primaries/caucuses, where Democrats can cross-over and vote. So far, there have been four closed elections: the Iowa caucus, the Nevada caucus, the Oklahoma primary and the Alaska caucus. Cruz won three out of four.

Tomorrow (March 5) there are four Republican primaries/caucuses: Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana and Maine. All are closed. After tomorrow, we should have a better idea whether Trump is the Republican choice or just the cross-over Democrat choice.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2016/03/02/so-far-trump-wins-open-primaries-and-cruz-wins-closed-and-the-calendar-is-starting-to-change-toward-more-closed-primaries/

By the way, so far Trump has won 46% of the delegates that have been awarded. To get the nomination, he has to win at least 50%. If Trump continues the same “winning streak,” he will not get the nomination and it will go to the convention to decide, where all bets will be off.

Trump is like non-man made climate change. It’s inevitable. Adjust and adapt. Repub better embrace him, because you know good and well the Demos will if the party power brokers won’t.

Once upon a time a man or woman put in the early years on the Springfield Republican or the Log Cabin Democrat or the Bloomington Pantagraph, covering spats between aldermen or obscure state legislators, learning the trade along with something about the nature of humanity and acquiring a little familiarity with the body politic, and finally arriving in the city with knowledge, insight and a little learned humility. He was a hard man to fool.

That young reporters Wesley Pruden speaks of also came from working classes.. They were in touch with - for lack of a better word - 'the street'... the real street - one with houses and kids and dogs - not the 'community of liberal elites - or community of 'pet victim groups of liberal elites' but of the everyday people.

The press doesn't have their ear to the ground today. No one hears the train coming.... and that's why newspapers are failing and why Trump is taking the country by storm. IT's why the chasm between the people and the elites is so wide and can't be breached.

Yes, there's an editor who gets what's happened, but he's old and the kids will discount his wise words... and things will keep getting worse... not that the press will notice or care until it all falls apart.
