If Voting Mattered, They Wouldn't Let You Do It

As Doug Casey summarized so eloquently, the political system in the United States has, like all systems which grow old and large, become moribund and corrupt.

The conventional wisdom holds a decline in voter turnout is a sign of apathy. But it may also be a sign of a renaissance in personal responsibility. It could be people saying, "I won't be fooled again, and I won't lend power to them."

Politics has always been a way of redistributing wealth from those who produce to those who are politically favored. As H.L. Mencken observed, every election amounts to no more than an advance auction on stolen goods, a process few would support if they saw its true nature.

Protesters in the 1960s had their flaws, but they were quite correct when they said, "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." If politics is the problem, what is the solution? I have an answer that may appeal to you.

The first step in solving the problem is to stop actively encouraging it.

Many Americans have intuitively recognized that government is the problem and have stopped voting. There are at least five reasons many people do not vote:

While the article is very cynical, I believe that because of Vote Fraud and Illegal Invader voting, the system is now so corrupt that the Republic and our rights as citizens under the Constitution are almost destroyed.

Illegal Invader voting

Read Ann Coulter's latest book.

The 1965 Immigration law radically changed the demographics of America.

That's why we have so many corrupt and crazy Liberals that keep getting voted into office year after year after year.

Republicans aren't losing the political or ideological argument....... they're being OUTVOTED.

It’s not who votes, that counts.
It’s who counts the votes.
(Or something similar, attributed to Stalin.)

Bum link.

I agree with the premise that in most times and most places voting is counterproductive. Every now and then, though, there are elections that matter. They seem to happen about once every generation. 1912, 1932, 1980 were all years where showing up made sense. I suspect that 2016 is another.

It is with great joy that I will be hanging up my voter ID after this year.

MN Vote Fraud -- stole MN from Trump. I just posted the following:

Look at the Delegates: It’s a Cruz-Trump Race

Hacker says he found evidence of software vote fraud for Rubio in MN, where Rubio won. Picked up by reddit and others online one day ago.

--------------------------------------------

OH WOW ! I followed some of the hackers postings — digging into the web files at MN Gov — lot of hard work. They kept finding one thing, then another, leading to another.

Here is the article explaining ALL what they did and what they found ! YES VOTE FRAUD !

“the Republic and our rights as citizens under the Constitution are almost destroyed”

When a sitting president is caught using the power of the
government to suppress the voices and the vote of his political
opponents and is not held accountable and allowed to remain in
office then the system is broke and voting is worthless.

If voting mattered, we wouldn’t have any illegal aliens in California. Back in 1994 we passed prop. 187 to deny schooling and welfare to illegal aliens, the courts, one woman, overturned it.

Cities all over the U.S. would have laws against illegal aliens.

Marriage would be between one man and one woman.

The free California high speed rail would have died from lack of funding, but 3 judges saddled us with an estimated 86 billion dollar train.

What is worse is that we have an attorney general and the previous one, which sues cities to overturn their laws.

Then we have judges writing laws and individuals in government agencies writing laws.

BS big time. There may be some liberals getting into office via vote fraud or overwhelming liberal activity in big cities, but generally IMHO it is Republican’s themselves who have gone over the hill and become liberal in their ideology and votes.

The republican platform as a statement of Republican Ideals, is routinely ignored as is the Constitution itself as founding document for our Republic.

Speaking of Republic, how often do you even hear the word mentioned in regards to our system of Government? More likely are you to hear the word democracy when the subject is being discussed.

You're naive.

Republicans lose because of 40+ years of fraud and immigration.

Lecturing people on the Constitution doesn't win elections.

Republicans used to own California. What Republican can win a statewide office there now?

Any Republican that thinks that immigration isn't important should come up with their most socially conservative and Constitutional platform and then win the governor's election in California.

Good luck with that.

Voting seems to matter a lot, when some of us start voting for a non-approved candidate, like Trump.

Then WE MUST BE STOPPED from getting our way.

(same thing happened in 1980 with Reagan, though we troublemakers got our way then, as we will here)

You are correct, the article is cynical. But not cynical enough. The ruling/royalty class, usually Ivy League educated and or Northeast born & bred or born into it have stacked the deck. Bigtime.
Add in the typical ignorant or pseudo-educated voter and we get what we have.
In my opinion, voting in 2016 is a complete waste of time.
It is now a heads, we win. Tails, you lose situation.
Now, my heroes are all dead and I am too old & tired to fight any more.

Our government is the problem and with Republicans in control there is no excuse for it.

When our government picks and chooses which laws to enforce or not, something is wrong. The illegal alien problem could easily be taken care of with existing laws. The IRS will send tax returns to multiple people with the same Social Security number. They let illegal aliens claim dependents in their home country without verification that they even have dependents back home.

In California it is against the law to use E-Verify. If the Attorney General won’t go after rogue politicians and judges, congress should. They should at least withhold the money and they knew we wanted sanctuary cities defunded before they passed the omnibus.

There was an article in the LA Times a week ago about a developer swindling the city out of millions of dollars. The city had given this company millions to build low income housing. They didn’t say that these guys were foreigners, but they were believed to be in India.

Our government is against the American. Most of the high speed rail contracts go to foreign based corporations. The train contract to Las Vegas from Los Angeles is going to the Chinese government.

If a U.S. based corporation does business in other countries, they get taxed in that country and our own. Not so with foreign based corporations, they only get taxed in the country were the work is performed.

The Department of Transportation sets aside 20 percent of transportation money to build bike and walking paths while telling us our bridges are falling apart. They put out a report that said Americans will fight against high density cities and public transportation but that immigrants and millennials will go along with it, they just have to wait for the baby boomers to die.

It was the SCOTUS that determined that CO2 was a greenhouse gas. Was that there decision to make? Even so, congress could have done something about it. The EPA has been closing down entire industries, taxing through fines, and regulating us to extremes. Yet, in Los Angeles, the container ships from China contribute half of Los Angeles’s smog, and that same pollution is a trail as they travel across the ocean at 32 miles per hour.

TRUMP:
“Because the country will become a dynamic economy. We’ll be dynamic again. If you look at what’s going on, we have the highest taxes anywhere in the world. We pay more business tax, we pay more personal tax. We have the highest taxes in the world.”

“It’s shutting off our economy. It’s shutting off our country. We have trillions of dollars outside that we can’t get in. Yes, we will do my tax plan, and it will be great. We will have a dynamic economy again.”

“We’re going to make many cuts in business. We’re getting rid of — we’re going to get rid of so many different things. Department of Education — Common Core is out. We’re going local. Have to go local.”

“Environmental protection — we waste all of this money. We’re going to bring that back to the states. And we’re going to have other (inaudible) many things.”

“We are going to cut many of the agencies, we will balance our budget, and we will be dynamic again.”

It’s a toss-up as to who is more corrupt - the rats or the gope.

I feel like a fool for voting republican all these years. It has become very obvious that the gope doesn’t give a sh*t about what I want.

I have only one question concerning that statement. Why on Earth did you put that “almost” in it?
