Sen. Ted Cruz's victory in his home state of Texas, dubbed huge by many in the media, was the worst showing by a Republican candidate in a home state since 1913, according to a new analysis.
On Super Tuesday, Cruz won 43.7 percent of the vote, besting Donald Trump who won 26.7. But the average primary showing by Republican candidates who won their home state in the last 100 years has been 78.5 percent, according to the Smart Politics blog from Center for the Study of Politics and Governance at the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs.

“In Texas more people voted against Cruz than voted for him.
Hes not well-liked in Texas and without popular governor Abbotts endorsement would have lost it.”
TRASH GOES IN THE GARBAGE.
All bets are off if Trump does not shed the carnival act Thursday night at the next debate. The last debate DID hurt him. He needs to get much better prepared for Thursday's debate and leave the crude comments at the door. If he doesn't put in the effort to do that, then maybe he is not the right man for the job.
>Go flush your vile trauma elsewhere.
I have no trauma that affects me now. While there may be more in the shadows that want to kill me, those that tried are now dead.
I no longer need to hide ...

And God will not allow you to hide either.
It doesn’t matter how much effort he puts into it when all of the participants including the moderators hit him from all sides with out and out lies does it?
How do you suggest he handle that? Thirty second sound bites to disprove it with Rubio or Cruz yelling over the top of him. Get real.
Texas was a strong Democrat state until 1979, when the first Republican in 105 years was elected. In the mean time, we’ve had millions of illegal invading the country. Cruz did just fine.
Doubt it. The RNC wouldn’t want that brought up.
>And God will not allow you to hide either.
And you have no say in how God and I relate.
I have to think that if Trump wasn’t a NYer, he would have won.
Broken record much?
But He does, and it will not end well if you read what He says.
Have to agree with both of you. This primary is a doozy.
“Trump is an exceptional candidate”
? the guy who cares about his penis size is an exceptional candidate?
Are you on Kardashian steroids?
#1. He needs to practice not getting baited into a battle of who can be more juvenile.
#2. He needs to get quicker on his feet. For example, when HE IS THE ONLY ONE getting targeted with the graphics Fox was hitting him with. He never asked why only him?
#3. He needs to spend more time with good advisers and less at rallies. He needs more substance in his replies.
#4. His first comment Thursday night should be to CNN and Ted Cruz as to why no one has gone after Cruz for not DISAVOWING Glenn Beck who threatened Trump's life and compared Trump to Hitler.
In our precinct Trump got only 79 votes on the day of voting.
On the ground Cruz cleaned up in Texas.
You, Me, and my relationship with God have no relationship. God is quite happy with me just as I am.
