Maybe Ted should propose a “Safe Zone” within their own culture.

Bringing in the Free Republic Police is beneath all due course of respect.

The youtube video cuts off before he finishes. Here's the entire reply:

"We have welcomed refugees -- the tired, huddled masses -- for centuries. That’s been the history of the United States," he told Fox News in a video featured on Cruz's website. "We should continue to do so." He added: "We have to continue to be vigilant to make sure those coming are not affiliated with the terrorists, but we can do that."

If the refugees cannot be checked out, they can't come. There's no reason a Christian with a verifiable history shouldn't be allowed in. That doesn't mean they get to wander around at will.

True, Cruz is allowed to change his mind. And he has. A man who refuses to change his mind is a man who is too proud to bear public office.

Having said that, certain people among his supporters are constantly yelling in a very condescending way that Cruz is the ‘consistent conservative.’

And this proves that they’re wrong.

Bringing in the Free Republic Police is beneath all due course of respect.

Defending what is effectively a flaming lie is beneath all due respect.

Thank you. I also seem to recall he was talking about the Syrian Christians, who were a significant minority and made up much of the business and professional class in the country (and who the Assad regime kept protected for decades).

So what. Trump at one time supported allowing Syrian refugees in too.

Ted Cruz supporting Immigration of Syrians is not a lie.

They need their own safe zone at home. The USA can do this.

They are certainly in the vast majority. The Pope, the bishops, the mainline Protestants, the Democrats and all lefties, the GOPe. So far, Trump seems to be a nationalist.

Actually if you care to learn the truth about this, Cruz has not been inconsistent and the claims made by the thread’s poster are a lie. It was turned into a lie by editing what Cruz actually said taking on an entirely different meaning.

There’s been a whole lot of that here.

His only significant change on immigration that I’m aware of is on H-1B visas.

Here’s his stance on immigration in 2011:

There are zero quotes of his that are to the contrary that I’m aware of. He’s been very consistent on this issue with the exception of H-1B visas where he did change his mind.

Trump backed the refugees too as Kelly showed in the debate.
