Dems Fret About Trump's Appeal

Democrats on Capitol Hill are starting to get worried about Donald Trump.

Once convinced that a Trump nomination would be a godsend for their party, some are now warning that a general election fight against the billionaire tycoon will be anything but a cakewalk.

Trump's unorthodox message and populist appeal, the Democrats warn, could erode their hold on working-class support and jeopardize their chances in a year when voter disenchantment with Washington is being felt nationwide.

"I've been saying for months that we should never take Trump lightly and that I do think he has appeal, to independents and blue-collar Democrats especially," said Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.), former head of the House Democratic Caucus. "He is stoking the fears. … He comes along and says, 'I'm a deal maker, I'm about getting the deal done.' And they're so fed up of seeing nothing getting done and want to see him [act] on the issues that strike to the core of their feelings."

Good. The crossover support is real. Isn’t it ironic and maddening that this is exactly what the GOPe has claimed for year that it wants, only to do their utter worst to a candidate that can finally do it?

I hope the DNC has money budgeted for Depends. They’ll need them when Trump wins the nomination.

At least they don’t have to fret about the appeal of a socialist and a criminal on their side.

What the GOPe and the religious nuts fail to understand is people want a leader who treats them fairly, who knows what they are doing... and basically leaves them the hell alone to live their lives!! why is this so hard to understand??

” And they’re so fed up of seeing nothing getting done and want to see him [act] on the issues that strike to the core of their feelings.”

What I want to know is, WHY is that a BAD THING ?

The Democrats are ripe for losing their remaining blue-collar white voters, even the union ones, to somebody who can credibly promise to do something about the loss of private-sector jobs overseas.

They understand that their jobs and pensions depend on fixing the economy.

They are increasingly pissed off that Democrat-advocated affirmative-action programs result in people less-qualified than them being hired and promoted instead of them. They are increasingly enraged that their kids have to go in debt for their whole lives to get a college education, while the financial aid seems to all go to minority students.

They are ripe for telling the Democrats to go to hell, if the right Republican candidate comes along.

All they ever really WANTED was to keep their positions of wealth and power. Most times, that requires lying.

Trump can win, but the donor class isn't concerned about the country. If they were, they would not have made themselves solely international businessmen. To the wealthy elites, the US is just another place on the world map.

Cruz's canned rap about Constitutional this and that.... and his rap about 'founding fathers' this and that.... is all eyewash.

Cruz is the handpicked 'B' movie villain that is supposed to snatch the prize away from Trump at the last minute - but there will be no sequel where good triumphs over evil. Cruz is Robin Williams impersonating a hackneyed, phony preacher.

It’s an almost bottomless list of what both political parties will lose in the form of position and influence, not to mention material losses, if Donald Trump is elected President. The GOP knows that, even if Hillary wins, Washington will sail along it’s decades old path to riches and influence for politicians on both sides with hardly a wave or a wrinkle to disturb it. Rubio, Cruz, Romney; it matters little because they’re all Washington products, schooled in the protocol and does and don’ts that keep Washington lucrative for them.

Trump is, in the words of Monty Python, “something completely different”. He knows the in and outs from the inside out and can wreak utter havoc on their safe little world. I applaud him, I support him. However, I’m fearful for him every day. Although he knows what he’s up against; he has to accomplish the task of getting the average American to look into the face of the beast that’s been controlling their lives for too long. For much of the dumbed down, social media addicted public, that’s going to be nearly impossible.

I pray for Trump but most of all for us. I’m hoping that Americans will tap the inherited resistance to manipulation and control that lies in our history and exercise our right to change government when it goes against it’s people.

That might make some sense, if Cruz had announced his run after Trump did, instead of before.

They only “claimed” to. The Dems and the GOPe divided up the electorate decades ago. And then using divide and conquer, went about setting them off against each other by pulling the strings via their propaganda arm - The MSM. While they sit back and party and laugh and live like kings.

It’s a win - win, for the establishment.

Yeah, because people realize he isn’t a racist. Or stupid.

You don’t become a billionaire by being a moron.

And he has an added bonus: the ruling class hates him.

I really wish he and Cruz would bury the hatchet. They have the SAME enemies.
