She was indeed a class act. World’s better than the street-dressed ho who currently resides in the White Hut.

I suggest you get back into the Bible and read Leviticus again. Not only does it prohibit that, it also prohibits tattoo’s. I know that will send some over the edge, but THAT is what the Book says, not me. If you or someone else has a problem with it, your problem is not with me, your problem is with God. And, there is only one vote here and He gets it. I don’t argue with Him. He sets the ground rules and I follow what He says. Whether I personally think they are right or wrong does not matter. I had better get on board with what He says and follow His lead. Otherwise, I will be held responsible. Lev 19:26. Read all that again. After you have read it, read it again, then again, and finally it might start making some sense to you, me and all who read it and STUDY it and the other Scriptures before and after it.

What your wife believes and says does not matter one little bit. What matters is what the Book says. He makes the rules. Following them is up to you. If you don’t, then you will be held responsible. Not me, not anyone else, simply you. So, read the Book. All of it, not just cherry pick around.

>> What matters is what the Book says. He makes the rules.<<

The Bible is silent on many matters. All of it.

It is definitive on our relationships with God, Christ and each other.

Other than that we are admonished to think, grow and learn about this fabulous Universe God provided to His children.

If you desire to refute my statements by quoting Scripture to me, please have the grace to do it in the original Greek or Aramaic (I leave it to you to ponder why they were not penned in Roman). Intermediate translations are subject to massive misinterpretations.

Thank you for looking out for my soul, Retired Army, but Leviticus says exactly what I tried, but apparently failed to do - which is point out that divination, etc. is the wrong use of “astrology”.

While there are many negative verses and warnings, there are others, often overlooked, that are positive, and supporting the idea that God has given us the heavens for our admiration of His magnificent and glorious creation.

Take a close look at Genesis 14-25, for example... “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as SIGNS to mark the seasons and days and years, and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the Earth.”

And Ecclesiastes 3:1 - which starts with “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”, and then goes on to describe times for about every human activity.

That said, the Bible condemns divination, fortune telling, sorcery, mediumship, and necromancy.

Perhaps you can take a look at this article from BibleGateway for a better explanation than I have given.

Actually, no, it’s not appropriate.

No one but a head of state should have half-mast.

But EVER SINCE 9/11 we are constantly dipping flags for every stupid thing. (I actually respect the 9/11 flag action because that was a MASSIVE atrocity.)

Every other day the flags at my school are lowered (not to mention other places - I’m constantly rhetorically asking my husband why they were down today - and he looks it up on the ‘net).

We look like weak-kneed bleary-eyed wimps.

It’s even become de riguer for the states, as our governors are now lowering flags every time some cop gets shot.

It is ludicrous, and I want it to STOP.

(Best regards to Mrs. Reagan. Nothing against her. Great lady, but she is not a head of state.)

Flying the Flag at Half-Staff
https://www.gettysburgflag.com/flag-code

The Flag Code sets out detailed instructions on flying the flag at half-staff on Memorial Day and as a mark of respect to the memory of certain recently deceased public officials.33 This section embodies the substance of Presidential Proclamation No. 3044,34 entitled “Display of Flag at Half-Staff Upon Death of Certain Officials and Former Officials.” The section provides that the President shall order the flag flown at half-staff for stipulated periods “upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a state, territory, or possession.” After the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries, the flag may be flown at half-staff according to Presidential instructions or in accordance with recognized custom not inconsistent with law. In addition, the Governor of a state, territory, or possession, or the Mayor

CRS-11 35 In 2007, P.L. 110-41, added the Mayor of the District of Columbia to this provision and authorized the Governors and the Mayor to issue proclamations to lower the flag to half- staff in honor of members of the Armed Forces from their jurisdiction.

36

34 Op. Atty. Gen. 483. of the District of Columbia, may direct that the national flag be flown at half-staff, in the event of the death of a present or former official of the respective government or in the event of the death of a member of the Armed Forces from that jurisdiction.35 Presidents also have ordered the flag to be flown at half-staff on the death of leading citizens, not covered by law, as a mark of official tribute to their service to the United States. Martin Luther King, Jr. is among those who have been so honored.

Again, the provisions of the Flag Code on flying the flag at half-staff are, like all the Code’s provisions, a guide only. They do not apply, as a matter of law, to the display of the flag at half-staff by private individuals and organizations. No federal restrictions or court decisions are known that limit such an individual’s lowering his own flag or that make such display alone a form of desecration.

4 US Code Paragraph 7 Position and manner of display
https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/7

(m) The flag, when flown at half-staff, should be first hoisted to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff position. The flag should be again raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day. On Memorial Day the flag should be displayed at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff. By order of the President, the flag shall be flown at half-staff upon the death of principal figures of the United States Government and the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, as a mark of respect to their memory. In the event of the death of other officials or foreign dignitaries, the flag is to be displayed at half-staff according to Presidential instructions or orders, or in accordance with recognized customs or practices not inconsistent with law. In the event of the death of a present or former official of the government of any State, territory, or possession of the United States or the death of a member of the Armed Forces from any State, territory, or possession who dies while serving on active duty, the Governor of that State, territory, or possession may proclaim that the National flag shall be flown at half-staff, and the same authority is provided to the Mayor of the District of Columbia with respect to present or former officials of the District of Columbia and members of the Armed Forces from the District of Columbia. When the Governor of a State, territory, or possession, or the Mayor of the District of Columbia, issues a proclamation under the preceding sentence that the National flag be flown at half-staff in that State, territory, or possession or in the District of Columbia because of the death of a member of the Armed Forces, the National flag flown at any Federal installation or facility in the area covered by that proclamation shall be flown at half-staff consistent with that proclamation. The flag shall be flown at half-staff 30 days from the death of the President or a former President; 10 days from the day of death of the Vice President, the Chief Justice or a retired Chief Justice of the United States, or the Speaker of the House of Representatives; from the day of death until interment of an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court, a Secretary of an executive or military department, a former Vice President, or the Governor of a State, territory, or possession; and on the day of death and the following day for a Member of Congress. The flag shall be flown at half-staff on Peace Officers Memorial Day, unless that day is also Armed Forces Day. As used in this subsection—

Perhaps you misunderstood.

The Bible speaks and provides guidance on many things. It speaks not on Xenotes in the southern peninsula of America. It speaks not of crystal reverberations. It speaks not of being not of the Earth.

The Bible establishes its own parameters: God, Mankind and Christ. These are its proper areas of concern.

Beyond that, God allows us to suppose and dream.

God weeps when people constrict their thinking. It is an abuse of His gifts.

The real problem is that Nancy communicated with the astrologer over an insecure line, potentially exposing information like the Presidential schedule to espionage. I suppose she didn’t get technical assistance because she was too embarrassed to have anyone else know.

JR doesn’t like derisive comments on how ugly she is. He thinks it detracts from substantive comments on how stupid and classless she is. Mods usually delete posts with the W word reference.

That's reasonable, for sure.

Even though in her case, I always saw the W word as complimentary.

Extremely, sickeningly complimentary.

I loved that IE message. Every time I got a warning about the site being insecure I thought it needed therapy to boost its confidence.

>>”Together again”.....Great Couple....one of my favorite photos of the two...<<
They were wildly, shamelessly, hopelessly, outrageously in love with each other. The way Nancy used to gaze at Ron was the very definition of Love Eyes. When his eyes met hers, the sparkle was sparked.

May we all live in such love and then meet our beloved in the bye and bye.

I read Ronalds’s love letters to Nancy.....it’s a great read. Quite the couple though I have to admit I preferred Ronald over Nancy......he was the romantic in their marriage.

When I am in the mood I can wax quite romantic. If you were to see my letters and cards back and forth to Mrs. FD you would think I was the romantic. IRL, Mrs. FD is the one who keeps the passion flame lit. I don’t deserve her and every AM and PM I am on my knees thanking our Lord for her being my companion and life partner (talk about not worthy — jeeze!).

Don’t read Nancy’s words — read her eyes. Res ipsa loquater.

Yes your’re likely quite right.....Nancy was obviously in love with Ronni......

Nice that you are romantic with your wife......too many men don’t realize how significant that is to most woman. It actually is an asset in order for a woman to feel “secure” in his love. If a woman doesn’t feel secure in his love then a breech will surely rise in one form or another.
