West Long Branch, NJ – Michigan is the first primary in a major industrial state. The Monmouth University Poll finds Hillary Clinton with a 13 point advantage in the Democratic race while Donald Trump holds an identical 13 point lead in the Republican contest. Ted Cruz and John Kasich are vying for second in the GOP primary, while Marco Rubio is trying to meet the delegate threshold. The poll also indicates there might be some late shifts in voter support.

-- Republican primary --

Donald Trump currently has the support of 36% of likely GOP primary voters in Michigan, which is significantly higher than the support levels of any of his rivals. Ted Cruz clocks in at 23%, John Kasich has 21%, and Marco Rubio has 13%. Candidates must reach a 15% threshold to be eligible for at-large delegates. ...

For results based on the sample of 402 likely Republican primary voters, one can say with 95% confidence that the error attributable to sampling has a maximum margin of plus or minus 4.9 percentage points (unadjusted for sample design). For results based on the sample of 302 likely Democratic primary voters, one can say with 95% confidence that the error attributable to sampling has a maximum margin of plus or minus 5.6 percentage points (unadjusted for sample design).

The best thing the GOPe can do to counter Trump is to continue pushing his high poll #’s. They make everyone believe Trump’s gonna win beyond a shadow of a doubt, and many Trump voters will likely stay home, as they figure their vote won’t make the difference. Get enough of those that think this way, and Trump’s chances drop. Polls are nice, but it ain’t over until everyone has voted.

Marco has about had it with all these qualification rules.
He’s going to put his foot down, and demand some respect!

it appears the GOPe strategy of using Rubio to “Criste” Trump may be getting some Traction.

The GOP is playing with fire hotter than the sun if they are engaging in fraud at the polls.

There is already a sense out there that some.real crooked stuff is going on.

About 1,000 Democrats in Mahoning County so far have switched their party affiliation to Republican with election officials saying several did it to vote for Donald Trump, the GOP presidential front-runner.

This is from the Youngstown, Ohio local paper, and further it said that many {low info new voters} have come in and want to register in the 'Trump Party'.

“Cruz, though, does better, beating Trump 48% to 41% head to head. In the
Rubio-Trump contest, both Cruz and Kasich voters would split at more than 2-to-1 for Rubio. However,
in the Cruz-Trump matchup, Rubio voters would go 3-to-1 for Cruz, while Kasich voters would split at
half for Cruz and less than 1-in-5 for Trump with another 1-in-4 saying they would not vote at all.”

Kasich needs to take a boatload of Rubio support to stay narrowly viable.

Trump down a bit, Cruz up a bit since the debate...sounds about right! Still looks like a Trump win, but they split up the delegates...

No, it didn’t. You are naive if you think that tossing in “if” excuses everything that follows. You remain “Found outside Starbucks”.

Oh I see.

It is FORBIDDEN to have even said that least it upsets you?

So if I said that about the Democrats (which we say on FR regularly), are you also going to pitch a fit?

No? Didnt think so.

Spare me your faux offense.

I fear the Jim Rob’s appeal for civility and restraint from ibnoxious slagging of Trump and Cruz won’t be honored until several of the worst offerders are zotted.
