Mitt Romney Records Phone Message for Marco Rubio’s Campaign
The New York Times ^ | March 7, 2016 | Jonathan Martin

Offering Senator Marco Rubio of Florida a much-needed boost, if not an outright endorsement, Mitt Romney has recorded get-out-the-vote calls for Mr. Rubio's presidential campaign that are being sent to voters in the four states voting on Tuesday.

Mr. Romney indicates, at the beginning and end of the message, that he is calling on behalf of Mr. Rubio but only urges voters to cast ballots for "a candidate who can defeat Hillary Clinton and who can make us proud," according to a copy of the message obtained by The New York Times.

The explicit point of the message from Mr. Romney, the 2012 Republican nominee, is less about helping Mr. Rubio than it is about sowing doubts regarding Donald J. Trump.

"If we Republicans were to choose Donald Trump as our nominee, I believe that the prospects for a safe and prosperous future would be greatly diminished -- and I'm convinced Donald Trump would lose to Hillary Clinton," Mr. Romney says in the call....

Rubio turned into a vampire attacking Trump in that one debate. Said Trump would be selling watches without parents. Excessively mean and nasty and sound bite really. Where would the young vampire be though if it wasn’t for his parents who slaved at a bar per his usual speech?

If you walk around the town....they have money and people are happy with their government. Jobs exist...no homeless people....no idiots walking around and whining. The airport is a marvel and ought to be a must-visit for any guy designing future airports. Crime is almost non-existent and people have a positive outlook on things.

I actually got to my hotel late on the first day...10PM. I expected that the room might have been given away or that it’d be a hassle. Here was the manager, two clerks, and a bellhop going into action, and minutes later I was in my room, which probably was one of the best stays of my life. One of the clerks escorted me to the room and showed me a dozen-odd technology gimmicks associated with the room and I felt right at peace. Out the backdoor of the hotel were forty-odd pubs and restaurants within two minutes of a walk.

If you want evidence of a successful society and business thriving....that’s the place to go spend a couple of days.

Oh, I need to say this. When you land at Dulles and spend 70 minutes in some stupid line waiting on immigration to do their dog-and-pony show....it’s frustrating. In Singapore? I spent two minutes in line, a minute with a guy checking the passport, and checked out easily. It was like night and day.

So, Mittens will settle for Rubio’s VP slot. Did Mitt just cut Ryan free?

A Mitt Romney endorsement robo-call???

Now that is a kiss of death this year....

Why didn’t Romney just get out a club and beat him like a baby seal?

LOL, It would have been more humane...

Pat Caddell said on Fox that he couldn’t understand why Rubio was polling so poorly until he found out that Marco was using the same campaign people Romney had used. Proof that this is all about keeping that consultant class in business. What is it about recycling losers don’t they get?

If we get to November, and Hillary is still in the race, and Bloomberg is not some third-party player...I can only see a couple of states where Trump might not have quiet the public enthusiasm. Electoral College-wise, I’d toss Hillary between two and five states where she might be lucky. Trump will carve out the entire south, and all the midwest. His VP selection might help or hurt, and I’d be curious who gets the nod in the end.

Bloomberg’s introduction as a third-party guy...I will agree if it occurs...does create a no-win situation for Hillary, Trump or Bloomberg. None of the three can get the 270 votes necessary. Of all the weird scenarios that could occur, I think this is the worst-of-the-worst.

Cruz should see the handwriting on the wall, team up with Trump and end the Washington DC BS once and for all. They will never let Cruz win and they will shun him in Congress when he goes back. They haven’t started on him yet because he’s a useful tool. When they’re done running attack ads against him and how he shut down the government, it’s over for him. Right now he has a shot at VP or a supreme court nominatio with ttumpn. He really should play nice. Together they have the power to turn DC upside down.

Well said.

The GOP-E is a fickle lover.

The truth is, they love power and access to our money more than winning elections and ruling.

It has been that way for the last 55 years.

To the GOP-E, Cruz is merely a means to an end.

I received my Rubio robo call from Mittens last night assuring my decision when I vote in Idaho’s primary later today for anyone, but Rubio. These stupid b———d’s don’t realize they have sown the wind with their treason and are about to reap the whirlwind.
