Trump Hits a Wall Within the GOP; His Critics Back a Convention Fight (POLL)
ABC News ^ | Gary Langer

Posted on 03/08/2016 9:10:05 AM PST by reaganaut1

Donald Trump’s facing a wall within his party, with Republicans who don’t currently support him far more apt to prefer Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio in a two-way race -- or even to favor a contested convention to block Trump’s nomination.

Trump continues to lead in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll, with 34 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning Independents who are registered to vote saying they’d like to see him win the nomination. But he trails both Cruz and Rubio one-on-one. And preferences for Cruz, Rubio and John Kasich have grown as others have left the race, while Trump’s support has essentially remained unchanged for months.

In the current multi-candidate race, 25 percent say they’d like to see Cruz win the nomination, with 18 percent for Rubio and 13 percent for Kasich; those are +4, +7 and +11 points compared with January, respectively, to new highs for each. Trump, by contrast, peaked at 38 percent in December. (In a difference from previous matchups, this poll asked respondents whom they’d like to see win, rather than whom they’d vote for, since the primaries are underway.)

In hypothetical two-way matchups, Cruz leads Trump by 54-41 percent and Rubio leads Trump by 51-45 percent in this poll, produced for ABC by Langer Research Associates. While the latter lead isn’t statistically significant, both are further signs of the apparent limits to Trump’s popularity within his party. Indeed, among non-Trump supporters, seven in 10 say they’d prefer Cruz, and as many say they’d pick Rubio, in head-to-head contests.

Warning him? He was opening it up so that the media could take over the attack. When that faltered, he attacked directly by choosing a liberal professor to direct the attack.

Please remember, trump once said it wasn’t an issue - Then he lost Iowa. Instantly it was an issue again.

I do agree that no matter who ends up as the nominee they will be relentlessly hammered.

Frankly, Cruz has a whole lot less to attack. Youth can be handy that way.

Right now we are looking at attacks on Cruz character and conservatism. Later on the attacks will be on his beliefs and conservative record.

The trump attacks from the left will be on everything from working with the mob to multiple divorces and women who claim he mistreated them in some way. You’ll see buildings that his father owned brought into it and the word slumlord will used nightly. -— The democrats will go places even us Cruz supporters won’t.

Imagine K and J street buildings with for lease signs in the windows and buildings for sale.

Imagine lobbyists having to leave to get a job.

Imagine the elimination of some government agencies.

Vote Trump.

Today’s talking point from the GoPe and their accomplices in the media. Cue up the brokered convention talk last week and then come out with polls this week showing Trump has hit a wall.

Limbaugh has not stopped pimping Cruz since the beginning of the race. He is lying when he says he is impartial. Just another NWO preacher and traitor. No longer listen to him.

Yeah, Limbaugh seems to be trying to pimp someone different every day. Take the good with the bad. Yesterday it was the British guy pimping Trump.

“If you can see a way Cruz wins NY, NJ, CA, etc., share it, as I’d be happy to listen.”

In a one to one , Cruz vs Trump primaries? Yeah, Cruz wins!

Cruz may be popular with “conservative” republicans but he will bomb with everyday Joe Sixpack Republicans and Democrats. His destruction will make Palin’s destruction look mild in comparison.

Those TV and radio stations are making bank.
If the rest of this primary is any indication it’s wasted money. The good news is the TV stations will all have new sets before the general election.

So what you’re saying is that you’re running away because you are AFRAID of a FIGHT!
Trump is a FIGHTER. Cruz and Rubio are politicians. I want a wrecking ball to hit Washington’s NWO madness. Trump is the ONLY ONE who will FIGHT for AMERICANS!

Trump Crushing GOP Field – Beating Hillary Clinton in New Florida Poll

Gateway Pundit ^ | March 8,2016 | Kristinn Taylor
Posted on 3/8/2016, 8:51:26 AM by Hojczyk

Leading Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has a commanding lead over his GOP rivals in a new Florida Decides poll by Central Florida cable outlets News 13 and News 9. Both channels are owned by Brighthouse.

Trump has 42% support of who those are likely to or have already voted early in person or by absentee ballot for the Sunshine state’s March 15 presidential primary.

Florida native Marco Rubio trails with 22% followed by Ted Cruz with 17%, John Kascih with 10%, and ‘other’ at 3%.

A further indicator of trouble for Rubio in the poll is the ‘undecided’ vote is only 5%.

Trump is also the only candidate of the top three Republicans to beat leading Democratic Party presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, 45% to 44%. However, all three head-to-head results were within the poll’s 2.3% margin of error.

The survey of Florida likely and actual Republican presidential primary voters had 937 participants with a margin of error of 3.3% and was conducted by SurveyUSA from March 4 though March 6.

Clinton is routing Bernie Sanders in the Democratic presidential primary in Florida according to the poll, 61% to 30%.

Trump’s lead among GOP voters is commanding across all demographic groups in the poll. He has between 40% and 44% support among men and women and all age groups.

Trump also dominates across the board in education and income groups: High school 52%, some college 41%, 4 year college 41%; less than $40K 48%, $40K to $80K 44% and over $80K 39%.

A Monmouth University poll released Monday showed Trump with only an eight point lead over Rubio, however that poll was taken of 403 likely voters and had a margin of error of 4.9%

Cruz is up against his own foe and I hope he hasn’t lost. It’s beginning to look like he has. Cruz just may have started out the most ethical of the bunch; but the promise of power, money and prestige has brought down a lot of people that thought they could never be swayed. Of course, after he has been used to advantage, all those promises will be null and void.
