Contested is not a brokered.

You’re getting hung up on semantics...whether contested or brokered, a convention can be then subjected to wheeling and dealing on all levels; if you think party bosses aren’t involved in a so called ‘contested’ convention, I don’t know what to tell you...

the other thing to be considered; the track record of contested conventions is abominable, and it i to the benefit of the party to wrap the contest up as soon as possible...

Contested convention means either Trump or Cruz wins.

Brokered convention means Romney/Ryan.

If the standard were a plurality of the votes, then the rules would be the same.

NO, you are wrong. One contests the delegate count before the first vote.

The other throws the convention wide open for anyone to win after the first vote.
