Joe Scarborough usually sets the tone on Morning Joe. But today, Mika Brzezinski took the lead, abruptly booting Florida Governor Rick Scott from the show today for his refusal to comment substantively on Donald Trump's statement yesterday that "Islam hates us."
As Scott repeated various bland statements about Florida, Mika could be heard muttering "wrap it" and "no, no." After a final try at getting Scott to respond, Mika curtly announced "we will move on now. Thanks." When the show returned after a break, Mika excoriated Scott, calling his performance "weak, sniveling political wavering," saying he was "pathetic" and that he shouldn't be governor if he couldn't answer the question.

I find it comical how the #NeverTrumps are turning the campaign into a contest of who can issue the most denouncements and excommunications the fastest.

I didn’t see this, but if this exchange is presented accurately then Mika is pretty much on-target. If she was explicitly looking for him to refute Trump’s statement that would be one thing, but if she just wanted him to take a stand, either pro or con, and he just waffled, then that’s a legitimate reason to call him pathetic. A governor has to have principles, or he’s not going to have a framework to govern within.
Gov. Scott is no dummy.
He gets enough flak as it is—Why give his detractors even more ammo?
She’s simply “pissed” that Governor Scott refused to be manipulated into giving them snippets that they could use against Trump. Good job Governor, let them stew in their failure.

Why didn’t Scott just answer the question? Mike was actualy right I am sick of the weasel words.
Althought whay I would like him to say (approve) is probably 100% the opposite of what Mike would want him to say (condemn) - it is still disgusting to watch politicians squirn to NOT ANSWER a question.
I agree. I’d encourage people to view the video. Scott’s obviously under instructions from his handlers to smile, smile, smile and avoid controversy.
He could have been more adept, saying something substantive without outright condemning Trump.

Did Trump just figure out they hate us? Does he have a clue why? I fail to see why the original story is newsworthy.
They are pumping up DT and will destroy him totally if he is the nominee.

islam has hated the entire Christian world since its founding!!!! Its founder, Muhammad, led attacks on Christian Syria before his death!
All the high-handed remarks about how “ridiculous” Trump’s statement is, because “islam” is not an individual, are totally off-base, and not in accord with the historical record!!!!

I myself remembered this, and was puzzled by all the pundits and journalists denying it, and saying that Trump was crazy and bigoted. If Trump is wrong about this, so am I, and my memory is faulty.
It is good to have confirmation on this from someone who knows!!!!
