Mini Dachshunds are about 9 lb. dogs. My old 20 lb. Maine Coon cat could carry one around in his mouth.

Must’ve made the cop feel like a real big shot to shoot that Mini.

but was following training that required him to kill all dogs that approach him, even if it was chained and wagging its tail as Buddy was doing in this case."

BS!

Show me that in the police training book.

Lady was abused for no reason by this cop.
She should sue using this video.
Cop should be let go.
Shoot a dog for no damn reason, fool.

“’Cook “testified that he was not afraid of the dog, but was following training that required him to kill all dogs that approach him, even if it was chained and wagging its tail as Buddy was doing in this case.””

Does that rule also apply to dogs owned by the cop? It should. I propose that if a cop wrongly shoots a citizen’s dog, that citizen should be allowed to shoot the cop’s dog if he has one.

This cop should be fired. This cop should be under arrest. The fact that he went through a house to take recording devices means he was trying to hide his crime. The fact that he did not care about the threat of the dog once the women stepped in front of it. He even turns his back on the dog. Totally disregarding the “danger” it posed, shows he was not afraid of it. He just wanted to shoot his weapon. This ass should never wear a uniform.

According to YouTube, the video is from last August. I think the charges you are referencing are the ones she was just found not guilty of.

Cook "testified that he was not afraid of the dog, but was following training that required him to kill all dogs that approach him, even if it was chained and wagging its tail as Buddy was doing in this case."

So that explains the endless stories of dogs being killed by cops for no good reason. Whoever came up with that stupid policy needs to be chained up in a dog suit and subjected to a visit by his/her trainees.

Until about 10 years ago we never heard of cops killing dogs. In the last 10 years it seems epidemic. Something has changed. I’m sure its not the dogs; police rules seem to have changed.

Not to mention what he was going to do to the dog.

If this is part of their training, islam has infiltrated officer training w/r/t dogs.

The Trooper says he was trained to shoot any dog that approaches him.

I doubt that this is official policy anywhere, but just one of those extra "techniques" passed on. It has become almost standard practice these days. Shooting the family dog generally brings absolutely no charges against the cop and it is a "macho" way to get their attention and "cooperation".

It’s the training source. I’m sure of it. It’s far too common very recently. Someone, somewhere has decided to train domestic police officers to react like they are in Fallujah.

They have been trained to off the dog right away without thought.

I could see there being heightened precautions regarding dogs to the extent that gangbangers are using pitbulls and the like. That being said, there’s still a place for common sense. A dog that’s tied up and wagging its tail isn’t the same as one charging through a screen door growling.

Hope you are right. She would then be free to sue. Some of the incident is pretty absolute like the officer saying she had a crossbow and her not having any weapon at all.

We are now seeing it.

And if his partner did not say anything. He should be arrested and fired too.

Trooper Seth Cook needs to be charged with assault, theft of property, and wrongful imprisonment.

Did you see the part where the public defender she was first given, who tried to get her to plead guilty, was married to the cop's boss?

Luckily she was able to find another lawyer.

If that’s the training: kill all dogs, then the Police Department could be liable for civil prosecution.
