Donald Trump brought a surprise to Thursday night's debate—an endorsement from former presidential rival Ben Carson.
The New York billionaire was asked by moderator Jake Tapper what his specific issues were with Common Core when he pivoted to his endorsement.
“I was with Dr. Carson today, who’s endorsing me by the way tomorrow morning, and we spoke for over an hour on education,” Trump said. “He wants a lot of different things that are terrific.”
“I’m gonna have Ben very much involved with education,” Trump said.

Cruz sounded desperate and shrill tonight. I’ve never really believed the attacks about him being a liar...but I’ve noticed recently how he does take Trumps words out of context..
The lamest in the debate tonight is Kasich...I think he totally doesn’t get what is going on this year. His solutions are from the distant past. He talks like there is no violence in the world or the US and we just need to get along and be positive. Easy for an upper crust politician to say.
I will really lose any respect I ever had for the Dr. if he does this, especially since donnie did everything but call him a ni**er in his multiple tirades against him a couple months back. Those absolutely mental pukes by donnie is exactly what turned me against him for any elected position, ever. Never, ever to vote for him.

You live in your own sanitized world and know nothing about hard-ball politics in Realsville.
In my political career I ran in 10 primaries and 10 generals in tough Illinois races, winning them all. I pulled no punches when campaigning....neither did my opponents.
Guess what...my GOP mortal enemies in the primaries became my best buds during the generals. That's the way it is in politics from time immemorial.
Candidates don't perpetually nurse hurts, nor do they agonize over political things said and done the way you do.....they're tough and they move on.

Trump's totals have barely moved.
Rubio and Kasich have been nearly dead in the water.
And Cruz's have gone up by 15 to 16% in the last hour.
I've looked at 5 other polls around the Internet and Trump is winning very dramatically.
Like I said.. something's not right.
After the botched introduction Trump respectfully stood with Dr Carson on the ABC debate.
This is the moment I think really changed the relationship between Trump and Carson and showed great class on Trump’s part.

The Cruz team on the night of the Iowa Caucus probably sealed this deal.
Carson was upset about it, and that’s his call.
I’m glad he endorsed Trump. I wouldn’t have been upset with him if he chose someone else. It was his call.

Happy to see it. I did expect it after Trump defended Carson from Cruz’s slimy lies....and also showed kind consideration when he stood by Carson when the Doctor didn’t hear his name called. Carson made the right choice.

Neither one heard their name called. Carson did on the second try; took three calls before Trump came out.
