Now Trump is toning down and being unifying. If you don't think this is entirely conscious, then you missed that the entire bombastic thing was an act - both are quite natural for him. He's totally in control of himself and has been throughout.

You don't have to like him, but you're silly if you think he's an out of control hot head narcissist racist liberal and he makes your panties twist up whenever you think of him. He'd rather lose 100 of you and gain 1000 who don't have their own narcissism issues that they project on him.

That's exactly what he's doing, and 300 of those 1000 will be people who voted Dem last time around.

In business, we call that 'a profit,' and we call you 'cost of goods sold.'

Trump didn't even treat Cruz as a threat anymore, which is a fact and probably the best way for Trump to handle it tonight.

For example, Trump never mentioned that Cruz had called Trump supporters "low information." Or that Cruz had lied about being endorsed by Chuck Norris.

No one challenged Cruz when he said incredibly farcical things like "We [the US] have never intentionally attacked/killed civilians [in a war or conflict]"...like EVER. WTF?

Then when Trump said we should be tougher with terrorists, Cruz and the others indignantly acted like that was terrible! Then two minutes later, Cruz said our problem in our military engagements is that "our hands are tied by rules of engagement."

Trump advocates peace in the mideast, the establishment trio become Israeli born-again hawks! Trump suggests going after terrorists families---which is what Israel does, they did it TODAY with a terrorists family, forcibly exported them---and they act like Trump is advocating a war crime.

They were all over the map---anything, any words or argument that could portray a Trump statement as extreme, crazy, etc.

Trump hung them out to dry tonight.

You mentioned Cruz flipping and saying our hands are tied.
Rubio said we can’t waterboard terrorists then turned around and said we’ll ship them to Gitmo and get info from them. How, Rubio’s Cube?

The debate felt like the last round of a prize fight where the champ had beat the living crap out of his opponent and in that final round just backed off a little, maybe even feeling bad about humiliating Cruz so badly.

I thought that press conference was brilliant. He needed to address/reverse the Romney attack and he knew that, after his big wins in MI and MS he would have free and unlimited prime time media coverage to accomplish that and he prepared his counter attack and used that prime time to maximum effect. That was brilliant.

Excellent example of what I was trying to say! When Trump spoke of being tough on terrorists, the three establishment candidates acted like it was in violation of the Geneva Convention. Then when THEY were called upon to talk tough on terrorism, they sounded like General Patton. What a joke. They really made fools of themselves.
