.....of the black vote. Muslims are insignificant.

Actually, I'm a bit concerned about the Muslim votes. In fact, very concerned! Here is an article I've got from 2007:

"Did Muslim Vote In Virginia Swing Senate Control"

'The Detroit Free Press reports Muslims played a critical role in the November midterm elections.

Imam Mahdy Bray, Speaking at a Muslim American Society and Islamic Circle of North America convention in Dearborn, highlighted the effective effort to turn out Muslim voters in Virginia.

The effort was so organized that Muslim taxi drivers in northern Virginia took the day off to ferry Muslims to the polls, said Imam Mahdy Bray, a speaker at the convention. Volunteers also made phone calls to Muslims in Virginia to urge them to vote, he said.

As a result, Democrat James Webb ousted incumbent Republican George Allen by about 9,000 votes in a race in which 50,000 Muslims went to the polls -- 47,000 of them voting for Webb, Bray said.

For my money Senator Allen gets all the credit for running a losing campaign. Nevertheless, if 96 percent of Muslims are going to vote Democratic, that would make them a more reliable Democratic constituency than African Americans. Democrats consistently receive only about 80 percent of African American votes.

But why does Trump keep saying he’s beating Hillary in the polls when he’s not?

Are people keeping them from him? Is he just trying to bluster his way through hoping no one will notice?

What’s the deal with him?

You can’t please everyone. Trump gains more American votes with his strong stand against Islamic terror than he loses from the tiny Muslim minority. Trump is the candidate of mainstream, patriotic Americans. Pandering to weirdos and cults is the Democrat’s gig.

He SHALL take N.Y. in the primary and in the general!

Upstate LOVES him, he has HUGE black following in Harlem!

Parts of Long Island are his for the taking.

And he'll get a large portion of NYC!

For the most part, N.Y. HATES Hillary!

She hasn't enough money to bribe EVERYONE in the whole state, nor even enough to eek out a win.

Almost EVERYONE hates de Blasio, so Bernie the COMMIE, isn't going to do all THAT well either...even WITH ACORN ( under a new name, but still ruled by BIG BERTHA! ) can't pull this one out for any Dem.

A twice divorced billionaire with a trophy wife 25 years younger than him who campaigns by bragging and insulting. Yup, sounds like a candidate just made to garner women voters.

Women love a winner, and get catty with uppity women.

So he's got that going for him.

Hillary beats Trump nationally just as she beat Sanders in Michigan--according to polls.

Two days ago some state polls came out. Check realclearpolitics polls to get numbers.

IN short, in Florida, Hillary beats Trump by 7. Both Cruz and Rubio beat Hillary by a few points. In Ohio and Pennsylvania, Hillary beats Trump by about 5, but Rubio and Cruz lose even worse.

Trump blusters and boasts. I’m afraid his boasting has taken hold on his supporters.

I want Hillary to lose as much as anybody but Trump consistently losing to her by wide margins in the majority of polls is not something we should bury our heads in the sand for and pretend is a good thing just because we hope for a repeat of a upset that happened 30 years ago. The Trump team should carefully be calculating how to approach this and we should be carefully considering how and who we should support and plan for all contingencies.

I don’t believe that and neither should you! This is too far out to even be asking about November! And Reagan was losing this far back too.

I’m really more worried about him saying every day that he’s beating Hillary in the polls.

Is he delusional, or just trying to boasting his way through this? Every day he says he’s winning in the polls , and he just isn’t. Why would he keep repeating that? He’s got to know it isn’t true.

The Trump team should carefully be calculating how to approach this

Trump will do what he did to Carson, Jeb, Kasich and Rubio. He'll attack Hillary to drive down her numbers while driving up his own. It's what he's good at.

Really need to drop the Reagan - Carter comparison.

That race featured the Iran hostage crisis. In April 1980, Operation Eagle Claw was a disaster in the desert of Iran and the country rallied around the president. Then Carter started his long slide as first he said he wouldn’t campaign while the hostages were still being held and then the news every day for months was the negotiations to free the hostages. When the negotiations fell apart, so did Carter’s support. This was a very odd election dominated by a crisis. It really isn’t relevant to any other election.

PS - During the election year I was in college overseas for a year and the country I was in couldn’t understand how we could be humiliated every day by the Iranians. I had to defend Jimmy Carter of all people because I didn’t like foreigners insulting my president, even Jimmy Carter.

I have mixed feelings about trump. In a way he simultaneously has the best chance to win and the greatest chance to lose. With his force of will and star power he literally has/had a red carpet to the white house especially with a joke like Hillary as opposition. But he continues to needlessly fritter it away with petty vendettas, burning bridges, and stuff like you mention. Its really exasperating to watch.

The Republican primary electorate is very different from the general election electorate.

Re: “Trump, unlike ALL of the others running against him, will take N.Y. state, which puts a whole NEW spin on electoral politics.”

That's not realistic.

New York state is 23% foreign born, 42% non-white, and it has the largest number of Jewish voters in the country.

Each one of those groups vote overwhelmingly Democrat.

In 2012, New York re-elected Barack Obama by almost 30%!

We’ll see. Remember that his triumphs so far are with devoted informed Republicans. He’ll be facing Hildebeest for the affections of the general brainwashed population. The same people who have been trained to be so afraid of being called an ‘ist that they are willing to let children be raped and people to be killed. It goes without saying that it probably won’t be as easy.

You’re cherry-picking.

There are several other FL polls up at RCP, and you choose to cite the only one that shows Cruz doing better than Trump vs Clinton in FL. You might want to look at the other ones. Might also want to take a peek at Cruz’s numbers in PA.

WHY TAKE THE CHANCE!!

let’s treat it like its a TOUGH race for Trump!!

how do we lose doing that.

you saw what happened last time!!

he might be up or down 2, but let’s PLEASE treat this like we’re playing catch up and win by 6 instead of 1
