Donald Trump Actually Losing To Hillary Clinton In Latest Poll It's Never Quite That Easy.

LISA MASCARO

Donald Trump closed the debate by promising the GOP would easily win the White House in November if the party united around his candidacy.

"The Republican Party has a great chance," Trump said, pointing to the "millions" of people he is drawing to the GOP. "These are people that will win us the election, and win it easily."

The problem is, Trump is actually losing to Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton in the latest matchup polls.

Clinton beats him, 51% to 38%, in an NBC News Poll/Wall Street Journal released this week.

And the gap has only widened in recent weeks, according to a compilation of polling at RealClear Politics. Trump was narrowly ahead, 45%-43%, in early February.

Even more, it is not clear that Trump is bringing in millions of new GOP voters; thousands of Democrats in some states have switched party affiliation amid record primary voting turnout.

Which Republicans are competitive against Clinton?

Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio would be tougher for her to beat, the poll showed.

A Clinton-Cruz matchup, 47%-45%, and Clinton-Rubio, 46%-46%, were both razor thin, within the margin of error

In other news: Can you give this a positive spin?
- - - - -
Ted Cruz has rebuffed a request by Federal Election Commission to disclose more information about some $1 million in loans he received from two major Wall Street banks during his 2012 Senate campaign.

In a letter to the FEC this week, the treasurer of Cruz’s 2012 campaign turned down a request by agency auditors that it fill out a public form spelling out “the complete terms” of two personal loans Cruz received from Goldman Sachs and Citibank– the proceeds of which, he has since acknowledged, he used to finance his upstart race for the Senate.

“They’re stalling on what they should have disclosed four years ago,” charged Craig MacDonald, executive director of Texans for Public Justice, a liberal advocacy group that has filed one of two complaints with the FEC over the loan issue. “This is a critical point in the presidential campaign and they don’t want any more new information about it coming out now.”

The Cruz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment. But in his March 8 letter to the FEC, Bradley Knippa, the treasurer of Cruz’ 2012 campaign, offered this explanation for not responding to the request from FEC auditors: It is already cooperating with another arm of the agency, its enforcement division, which is conducting a separate review of the loans in response to the complaints filed by MacDonald and another advocacy group. And those reviews are conducted under strict confidentiality rules that, Knippa argued, forbid making any more information public.

If he’s nominated, my hope is Donald will attract more than enough democrats to cross over, so the deficit (if one really exists) will be nullified.

LAT quoting NBC/WSJ poll - a well-known liars’ poll.

It has consistently has the least accurate record of all the national polls.

Ask leading questions and you will get the answers you want.

It doesn’t mean they’re true.

It's the STUPID WSJ; they HATE trump and ALL of there polls always show him losing!

Trump, unlike ALL of the others running against him, will take N.Y. state, which puts a whole NEW spin on electorial politics. And that's not the ONLY Blue or Purple state he can win.

Hillary was beating Bernie in Michigan by 20 points in all the polls...

And those polls were taken just a few days before the vote.

That isn't apples to apples. Carter was the incumbent and running for reelection. Interest rates were hitting 20% and the Iranian hostage crises was going nowhere. Very very different. And were going to have the media and the Democrats digging through Trump's private business dealings, some involving paying politicians, over the long summer.

A poll 8 months ahead of the event is as reliable as a weather forecast 8 months ahead. Especially since Trump is busy demolishing his primary opponents one by one.

Wake me when July rolls around and the same outfits take their presidential polls. Trump will be killing it around convention time.

Are you trying to be a comedian? Every career politician running for president in 2016, all 17 of them, could stay in the race only because of their sugar daddy rich donors.

Despite Cruz’s attacks on his party’s donor class and establishment, the Texas senator Ted Cruz’s GOP campaign has received $37 million from just four donors.

The Wilks family of Cisco, Texas, New York hedge fund tycoon Bob Mercer, Texas energy investor Toby Neugebauer and Illinois manufacturing moguls Dick and Liz Uihlein.

Hillary is beating Trump 98.7% to 1.0%!

All those thousands of people going to Trump rallies can't actually vote!

Whereas, the tens of people turning out for Hillary rallies are actually SuperVoters, who are like "superdelegates", only each one of THEIR votes is like unto a thousand...

Not yet. I'm kinda rooting for her future Secret Service guards to be actual CO's in their normal place of employment.
