Rough Week for Mitt Romney=> Mitt’s Niece Comes Out for Trump

Poor Mitt Romney — One in four GOP voters are MORE LIKELY to vote for Donald Trump after his blistering speech.

And then there’s this…

The niece of 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney wishes her uncle was in the White House, but vows she’ll support Donald Trump – the candidate Romney publicly attacked in a brutal takedown speech last week.

In an interview by MSNBC’s Chris Matthews in Detroit on Tuesday night – where Trump sailed to victory in the state’s primary – Ronna Romney McDaniel said she believes the real estate billionaire is “committed to staying in the [Republican] party.”

McDaniel said that rallies she’s attended for Trump in Michigan are “not a traditional Republican crowd,” but that she’s “not surprised” he won the state handily.

“If he’s our nominee, I’m going to support him,” she declared.

She also said her uncle is not an option for the party’s nominee if there is a contested GOP convention this summer.

Mittens sucked all the oxygen out of the #NeverTrump movement.

It has no candidate and no strategy moving forward.

Trump’s opponents are belatedly realizing you can’t beat something with nothing.

The party establishment will fold like a cheap suit.

Saying Romny and “brutal takedown speech” is an absurdity.

Americans love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. I wouldn’t give a hoot in Hell for a man who lost and laughed. - Attributed to Gen. George S. Patton

Would explain why things blew up so badly for Mittens and the GOP-e.

Mitt Romney reminds me of a line from William S. Burroughs' Advice to Young People:

"Avoid f***-ups. We all know the type. Anything they have anything to do with, No matter how good it sounds, Turns into a disaster...."

Mittens helped Trump by reminding people Trump looked good next to Mitt.

I think Mittens’ single contribution to the 2016 race was to demolish the #NeverTrump movement.

For people who hate the establishment, Mittens was the wrong man at the wrong time at the wrong place.

So true. No to trump was a big flop. I actually it helped trump in Michigan. Majority of Americans know that trump will be the nominee. I understand why the media wants to keep the trump cash cow going though. He has made these networks a fortune. Quite frankly I think without trump our primary would have been a bust and probably a loss in November. What most don’t understand is that dems start the general at a huge advantage and only need a few of the undecided states. We need almost all of them. So trump even flipping 1blue state is game over for dems. Wish everyone oink the Cruz camp understood reality of things.

Who knows, maybe that was his intention.

Demographics look good for Trump and for once he didn’t hurt himself with late deciders.

My prediction:

Trump lock - FL, NC, MO, IL

On the bubble or slight lean Kasich - OH

Every knew after it was over last night, that the Fat Lady had sung.

“If he’s our nominee, I’m going to support him,” she declared."

How does that statement match the title of the article? Would she not support Cruz if he is the nominee?

Color me confused. This is not Coming out for Trump.

Of course Romney’s speech accomplished exactly the opposite of his intent. That speaks volumes for the Republican establishment. Sameo, Sameo.

It does have a strategy going forward, which unfortunately is to back Cruz as much as possible. Not because they want or Cruz has a chance to win on the first ballot, but because if they make it to the second ballot they’ll put their own squish in as the nominee.

Cruz should have struck to his early strategy, and then he and Trump could have this sown up without turning off voters and with a brilliant Trump/Cruz ticket.

At least Mitt has finally found his place in history.

He will go down in posterity as the fellow who assured that Donald Trump would become the 45th. President of the United States.
