While Ted Cruz proudly proclaims he is an Evangelical Christian, his campaign takes pains to hide the truth that Cruz and his pastor father, Rafael Cruz are Pentecostal Christians, a fact further hidden by having Ted and Heidi Cruzs belong to the congregation of First Baptist Church, a Southern Baptist church in Houston, as their home church. Both Cruzs parents, his father Rafael a Cuban-born immigrant, and his mother Eleanor, born in Wilmington, Delaware, grew up in Catholic families. Both were among the millions of that left the Catholic Church since the 1960s to embrace Pentecostalism, a Christian movement estimated to make up 4.4 percent of the U.S. population, accounting for some 13 percent of evangelical churches in the United States.

Drudge continuing to embarrass himself with the daily trashing of Cruz. Drudge is blinded by his love for the NYC Values candidate.
The circular firing squad is particularly bad this year, and sadly Drudge is a major player.
I agree.. but you know darned well how Hillary's people (and all the left) will make hay with those images.
EXCLUSIVE: Kenneth Copeland Lays Hands and Prays Over Donald Trump
It isn’t helpful to blast Raphael Cruz, it isn’t helpful to berate Christians of most any stripe. Prayer and laying on of hands is somewhat normal in the vast majority of Evangelical denominations.
Mabel, if you think that Christian leaders and radical imams are the same, I suggest you buy a one-way ticket to Iran.. Not that we don’t WANT you back, it’s just that you WON’T be coming back. But at least you will learn (too late) that there IS a difference.
There was a time in this country when this would have been a non-story (or would actually have been seen as a positive).
How far we’ve traveled down the road of paganism...
At the debates twice now we have had moments of silence. Some bow their heads, some close their eyes, some just stare in space straight ahead, but that is ok. If that is how they show reverence it is ok. Prayer throughout history has been different, some bowing heads, some with hands raised up in the air looking up.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to pray for someone. Even the showy ones.
Oh peachy, another “annointed one” bent on an “end time transfer of wealth”!
Trump supporters line up for their Kool-Aid.
I don’t think so in this case. Cruz and his campaign have made it relevant. If religion is a central tenet of the Cruz campaign the religious aspects are the People’s business. Personally I am uncomfortable electing a man who believes he has been anointed as a King to make war against the unbelievers and return the wealth of America to the priests to distribute to the faithful. Furthermore his victory will give the priests dominion over the world.
His wife: Ted was showing America “the face of the God that we serve” through his faith-based Republican presidential campaign.
Ted Cruz Tells Supporters to Strap on the Full Armor of God for Expected Campaign Attacks: We Aint Seen Nothing Yet
Iowa GOP chair Matt Schultz openly compared Cruz to Jesus Christ and said that God sent Cruz to become president so he can force Christianity down our throats by evangelizing the government so that it will specifically protect Christians and no one else.
We need someone who will go to Washington and throw the money-changers out. God raises special men and women to protect his people, and I believe this is one of those moments in time. Ted Cruz is that man who God has prepared for this moment in time.
Once upon a time in human history, the only rulers supposedly ordained by God were kings and queens who claimed entitlement and power by using the Bible and religion to justify their reigns.
Ted Cruz Holy Ghost Video Revealed Father Claims Ted is the Anointed One A video from 2013 made headlines at The Drudge Report today. https://youtu.be/kNa5w9js48s
Good. I’m all for inviting God in.
LOL, I thought he'd support Trump, if only for their similar hairstyles.
I’m a Trump guy but in good conscience I can’t criticize the idea of laying hands to invoke the holly spirit for healing or even inspiration
Or speaking in tongues
Whatever it takes to bring someone to salvation
I don’t doubt Teds Christianity but I think at times in this fight he’s likely let himself down
Fighting a political war against a powerful plain spoken neophyte with great instincts
It has to be incredibly frustrating
This story isn’t about Cruz. It’s about mocking prayer and worship of God through his son Jesus.
I lean Trump, but I do not at all like these attacks
on Cruz’ religious faith.
Glad to see some think a man’s faith is personal. There’s been many a post here on FR about how awful Trump is because he never asked forgiveness from God. So hey, I agree, that’s nobody’s business, as I’ve said before.
Try to USE the faith to manipulate, however, then it is fair game.
All Drudge does is link from other news stories to his page. That’s it. I’m not sure why people feel compelled to follow him. I can surf web-based news without his guidance.
I believe in God and I would welcome the influence of religion in politics since it teaches that all men are equal before God, humility, doing things because of your love of God, an appreciation of right and wrong etc. But Ted Cruz’s professed religion is exclusivity and rooted in monetary reward and conquest of opposing beliefs. That deeply troubles me. The video from Drudge this morning shook me and my posts today reflect that viewing.
So where have I heard this before... freshman senator, deep ties to the banking klepocrats, Harvard lawyer, and as it turns out, pronounced an “anointed one” tasked with enabling a massive transfer of wealth?!
