So it was Reagan's job to save them from themselves?

I don’t see how it was Nancy Reagan’s job to do it, she wasn’t president (probably a foreign concept to Shillary, who thought she was co-president with her rapist husband), and Nancy had already chosen the war on drugs (what anyone thinks of that is a different topic entirely) as her First Lady cause.

If the Reagans hated gay people so much why were they such good friends with Merv Griffin and Johnny Mathis? Yes, Johnny Mathis is gay.

No, because they will never stop being at war with themselves for being perverts. The louder they shout, the more they’re trying drown out their consciences, until they are finally given over to a depraved mind.

I remember during the Clinton administration where a group of gays were livid at how much they did not do to help them.
Whoopsie.

Obviously, it was all Reagan's fault for causing the HIV virus to respect "heterosexual white male privilege". "Just say no" would have worked fine for HIV, too.

The first impulse of the Reagan Administration was to treat AIDS like any other public health emergency, with appropriate public education campaigns, screening, and behavior modification. But AIDS was different. The junkies didn’t want to be policed, and the homosexuals went to war to demand that the link to homosexuality be airbrushed out of the picture. AIDS was to be everybody’s disease. Even closing the bathhouses was a bitter point of controversy. Bottom line, I have no sympathy for the gay community on this one. They brought it on themselves.

IIRC the Reagan administration wanted to close the bath houses to stop the spread of HIV/Aids. But the gays went all anti-homophobic and protested that they were being singled out, so the closings never happened. They were free to die as this chose...
Just think how many of their lives would have been spared.

Dianne Fineswine was mayor of San Francisco at that time. She kept the gay bath houses open when the virus was just beginning to spread.
