Donald Trump Defends Use Of Violence Against Rally Protesters Again: Supporters Should ‘Swing Back’

By Kellan Howell - The Washington Times - Friday, March 11, 2016 Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Friday defended his supporters’ use of violence against protesters at his campaign rallies, arguing they should respond if anti-Trump protesters start a fight.

Mr. Trump cited an incident at a Nevada rally last month where he said a protester lashed out violently at security guards.

“He was a guy who was swinging, very loud and he started swinging. And you know what? The audience swung back, and it was very appropriate,” Mr. Trumpsaid, the Hill reported.

“He was swinging, he was hitting people, and the audience hit back. That’s what we need a little bit more of,” Mr. Trump added. His comments come one day after a man was charged with assault after sucker punching a protester at a Trump rally in North Carolina on Wednesday. Earlier this month, video footage of several Trump supporters, including some alleged white supremacists, assaulting a Black Lives Matter protester at a Trump rally in Louisville, Kentucky, went viral.

For almost 8 years we’ve seen obama followers be allowed to riot and attack at random... the police have been told to let them express themselves.. and they have. For all this time, they’ve gotten bolder and bolder. They throw fits in courts at the judges.. they attack any authority and have gotten away with it due to the President giving them the nod. Yes, he’s let them know he won’t prosecute... so have at it. Their demands have become ridiculous.

Tonight, they took over Trump’s space... and look who’s to blame. It’s time they realize their time is over... the law is to be obeyed and the courts are to be respected.. AND it’s time for authority to stop being scared and stop being politically correct. This has become a habit... and it’s time to stop it.

Flaglady, yours is the post of the day, nay...the week...perhaps even the month.

FR should have Trumpy Awards....like the Academy Awards, the Emmy Awards, the Edgar Awards, the Obie Awards....even the Pulitzer prizes.

It’s time we ignore the Cruzers. Let’s simply not respond to any of their posts. Eventually they’ll go away. I mean, heck, we don’t have anything in common with them anyway. And they hate it when they don’t get a rise. Just like their hero couldn’t get a rise out of Trump last night and he couldn’t stand it.

I’m sure one will post me so I will be an example and not respond. hee hee

Paid activists are the mob, NO media reports said they were peaceful. Intelligent voters aren’t going to be bullied or hog tied by PC talk anymore. Or slanted media trash talk. Good for Trump fighting for first amendment rights and right to protect yourself. Hey Ted, who is the Constitution defender here?

That’s why Trump praised the Chinese on how they dealt with the
Tiananmen Square protesters

I favor Cruz over Trump (and believe he has a better record of opposing the “establishment machine” than Trump has). I was displeased, though, by Cruz’s attempt to split the responsibility for the threat of violence between the protesters and Trump. “The responsibility for that [violence] lies with protesters who took violence into their own hands, but in any campaign responsibility starts at the top...” Huh? Both those claims can’t be true.

Whether trying to make that link will help Cruz in the campaign I don’t know (it’s the kind of b******t that helps Trump :-), but I wouldn’t be surprised if this backfires on him. Violent protesters versus Trump? Rather than blame Trump, most Republicans — and even a good many Democrats — will be inclined to put the blame on the protesters, and feel more favorably (or less negatively) toward Trump.

He encourages people to stand their ground and rightly defend themselves if attacked by a protester. That’s not inciting violence. It is encouraging people to no longer be intimidated by violent protesters.

Had he said “swing first” we’d have a controversy. “Swing back” means to defend yourself.

Bingo! The article's headline is misleading. Disappointing for the Wash Times.

So you wanted riots and violence tonite instead, right?

How many events should be cancelled before Trump supporters say "enough is enough"? A lot of Trump supporters on this site attack the other candidate's supporters calling them "pu*****" and everything else, then don't hold their ground against stinky hippies in Chicago. It would be nice if the same hatred shown to us here would be shown to our common enemy, the marxists that attacked them in Chicago. On these threads discussing the incident, Trump supporters are still more angry at Cruz supporters than the marxists who punched them, smashed their cars, and ran them out of town. If you love Trump because he's the only tough guy in the race, shouldn't the supporters be tough themselves and plan a defense for the next Trump rally rather then fold? Keep them out, hire bouncers, something.

It's like the liberals attacking Christians because they know they won't be beheaded, but they don't dare say something about a muslim. If you all are not as tough as you put on here every day, then maybe you should tone it down against the only conservative in the race.

“If you all are not as tough as you put on here every day, then maybe you should tone it down against the only conservative in the race.”

You are the coward, you and Cruz who hid out in a suburban expensive fundraiser dinner, while Trump went into the belly of the lion in liberal Chicago. Trump is fearless, Cruz is ball-less. And this is the only Trump rally that had to be cancelled, as all of the City lice crawled out last nite and in a community organizer effort of every radical leftist and minority group possible came out to the UIC Campus. Trump, wanting no one hurt, cancelled the event in conjunction with law enforcement. SORE CRUZERMAN.

P.S., Trump is going to be your President, whether you like it or not, wimp. Get used to saying Preident Trump.

Is this true or false?

Which part? The part you're thinking of is not only true, but the way it used to be before the good People came under the government's thumb and decided to allow thugs overrun them because they were too "civilized" (read Pussified) to fight back. It's part of the best of a society that refuses to stand by while thugs (and other government agents) walk over them - that's a big part of what Trump stands for and why so many of the right people are terrified of him. Your distaste of him matches the RNC/GOPe/Democrats/Commies/BlackLivesMatter/Terror States, and a lot of other unsavory sets of low-lifes.

Yours is yet another Alinsky tactic of dodging the actual topic.

True Trunpians are also alinskyians.

Ostracize the left. That includes family and friends. Not one damn dime to the communist public education system. NO money to your alma mater. NO money to college sporting events, including football or basketball. Not one dime to entertainment; no movies, no cable. You really can’t find anything more constructive to do? Shun the left; don’t give them access to your money.
