Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump Is to Blame for Violence at His Rallies
NY Times ^ | 3/11/16 | Matt Flegenheimer

Posted on 03/12/2016 4:53:30 AM PST by jimbo123

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said on Friday that Donald J. Trump bore responsibility for “creating an environment” that encourages violence at his events.

Speaking to reporters at a local Republican dinner outside Chicago, where Mr. Trump had just canceled a rally amid fierce confrontations between his supporters and protesters, Mr. Cruz began by saying that the “protesters who took violence into their own hands” were responsible for the episode.

“But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top,” Mr. Cruz continued. “And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”

Mr. Cruz invoked the protests and violent police run-ins at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and predicted that future skirmishes were likely.

“When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates,” Mr. Cruz said. “And today is unlikely to be the last such instance.”

Shame on you, Ted Cruz.

What were you thinking?

Ted Cruz is A Pussy

He's proving it by hiring Neil Bush (thus ALL the Bushes) and siding with the GOPe, the Soros protesters, and William Ayers.

These guys are sounding more like the the Left and Obama all the time. After all isn’t it America’s fault that America’s enemies hate her and that things like 9-11 happened?

Sadness.

So what would you like to do to someone beating up on your supporters? It ok for the protesters to throw punches? We are not allowed to defend ourselves? I sure as heck would not want to share a fox hole with you.

you must be on drugs. Cruz is the the most far from the establishment, yea wake the hell up.

Bush administration
Cruz joined the George W. Bush presidential campaign in 1999 as a domestic policy adviser, advising then-Governor George W. Bush on a wide range of policy and legal matters, including civil justice, criminal justice, constitutional law, immigration, and government reform.

Cruz assisted in assembling the Bush legal team, devising strategy, and drafting pleadings for filing with the Supreme Court of Florida and U.S. Supreme Court, in the case Bush v. Gore, during the 2000 Florida presidential recounts, leading to two wins for the Bush team. Cruz recruited future Chief Justice John Roberts and noted attorney Mike Carvin to the Bush legal team.

Now hires Bush, has a meeting with Bush, uses a cheap shot last night, insults those who do not vote for him as low information, and now has changed his mind over a contested convention.

then he stated this.
“Let me encourage other members of the establishment: Keep supporting Donald Trump because every time you do it, what it is doing is telling conservatives all over the country is where you stand and who stands with you”.
- Ted Cruz, New Hampshire stump speech

How unlike you to hold an entire group of supporters accountable for the actions of one individual.

I hold Trump himself accountable for this much, i.e., a whole series of stupid, irresponsible statements that encourage, incite, and condone violence: "I could shoot somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue and not lose any voters." "I could murder someone and not lose any voters." "I'd like to punch that guy in the face." "I'll pay the legal bills if you go after that guy." And then, surprise, one of his rally-goers punches a protester in the face. Which, in turn, led to a predictable situation like last night. Trump is irresponsible with his mouth and shows bad judgment.

No, of course not. Trump himself has said that he would like to punch protesters in the face. He’s taunted that he would pay the legal bills of his supporters who got into trouble being physical at his rallies. His words are less than diplomatic. The narrative from the first day of Trump’s campaign has been about “anger,” as if that’s something we should support (because good decisions are always made in anger).

Of course Trump is responsible for creating this environment. It doesn’t happen elsewhere. I’m sure protesters are at Cruz rallies, but he doesn’t have the mouth-breathing low-information supporters that would resort to violence.

This site, as you may know, is long dead. Conservatism is not welcome here, as the primary support is for an authoritarian “government is the solution” guy with zero experience. Obama 2, except Obama doesn’t look like a space cadet who wants to bang his daughter.

If trump can’t win 5 states then how the hell in your cult mind does cruz win more when he can’t win now?

He has only won 3 primary election states and one being his own with less than 50% of the vote and the other OK a neighboring state.

He never won a single county in some southern states, can’t win a swing state like VA, hell he never won a county in VA, is far behind in FL another swing state.

wake up will you.
