I think you need to step up as you have done in the past against this virtriolic rhetoric.
I understand those of us on the Cruz side are outnumbered here. I get it.
But the constant character attacks and outright falsehoods do nothing to further the cause of liberty and conservatism.

We are not talking about Clinton or Obama... These awful lies are repeated over and over about one of our most greatest heroes of the right, someone whom you yourself have said you support more than any other candidate.
I know it’s a fine line, but civility cannot be damned for the sake of the angry mob. I don’t care how angry the mob is, we have to stick by our principles because without them, what the heck are we fighting for? Why even fight if you have to sacrifice everything you believe in to win?
Conservatism is the only salvation for this country, no, for liberty.
The blatant disregard for it on this site is so disheartening. This is supposed to be a place conservatism can grow and be fostered.
That is not and cannot happen when one group screams bloody murder lies and falsehoods over and over. When all they do is attack the character of fellow posters with frivolous contrived drivel, regardless of the topic at hand.

This has been a place which has shaped who I am and what j believe in since I was literally in middle school. It’s been a topic around the dinner table and when visiting grandparents for literally most of my teenage and adult life.
With grandparents drawn to FReep alongside you in DC against Clinton, to my mother and I alongside you in Crawford, to my wife and I alongside you in DC against Porkulous, FR had been a very strong part of my life.
This election cycle has been vastly different than before. The level of hatred being exhibited is getting completely out of hand. When people whom have invested a decade and a half or more of their lives to something, to a community, walk away because of the behavior of another group, something is seriously wrong.
I don’t have an answer on how to fix this, maybe it’s to enforce basic principles stances? Maybe it’s to some how address this with the mods, but something needs to be figured out, and fast.
If not, I fear this place is going to shake itself completely apart, and there won’t be anything left once the dust settles.

One thing you do not understand plewis, is that this country unfortunately has gone to far to the left for Cruz to win in the general!!! I know you WOULD LOVE to believe that this is NOT the case, but you NEED to get your head out of the sand and realize that it has taken 30+ years for the progressives to get this country to where it is now!!! if you look at this situation realistically it WILL take us at-least the same amount of time to turn the ship around !!! I just WILL NEVER understand how you folks honestly believe the country WILL ACCEPT a CRUZ far right person as POTUS????? Agreed. I try not to take it personally. Sometimes difficult.
George Washington warned against having political parties. Of course is warning went unheeded pretty quickly, but the pendulum seems to be swinging harder and faster.
