Mitt Romney to Campaign with John Kasich in Ohio
NBC News ^

Posted on 03/13/2016 6:37:01 PM PDT by springwater13

Mitt Romney will campaign with John Kasich Monday at two stops in Ohio, NBC News has learned from a source familiar with the plans.

Romney is not expected to endorse the Ohio governor during the campaign swing, the source said, but it will be the first time Romney has campaigned on behalf of a Republican candidate this cycle.

It's a significant move for the former Republican nominee, who previously recorded campaign telephone "robocalls" for Kasich as well as Marco Rubio.

Earlier this month, at a speech in Utah, Romney lambasted frontrunner Donald Trump as a "fraud" and warned of the dangers to the Republican Party if Trump were the nominee.

One more reason for me to not like Kasich. I used to like the guy, but this election has been a revelation.

If they’re that worried, they have a strange way of showing it.
Romney isn’t the answer to any problem.

This is about media coverage day before election. Trump had it all this weekend. Romney will not mention Kasich, but attack attack Trump. Media will air it all.

It sure seems strange if a man was pretty sure he was winning or even had 50/50 odds why would he bring in such a risk. Something is off here.

You certainly don’t bring in a person who is a pariah with the majority of Republican voters. I guess Jeb was busy.

That should put the final nail in the Kasich coffin.

Kasich didn’t win Ohio with strong support both times.
First time was against an old lib who raised taxes as soon as he got in to office, and the second person was a no-name from Cleveland who had no money and he barely won that one.

He is not popular at all. Common Core decimated his support. He needs a political job to land somewhere because he is going to be bounced out office here in Ohio for good.

Mittens will campaign in Ohio harder against Trump than he did back in ‘12 against OBammy.

Or if Kasich supporters don't like Mitt they can vote for Cruz.
How would they know the difference?

Ooohh, good one.
Blackwell is way too principled for him, though.
Whatever happened to him? He was great.

When they pull the curtain back on this great campaign strategy, saavy ohio voters will see that a vote for their guv kasich = a vote for mitt romey coming out of the convention at the top of the GOP ticket.

Wonder if Al Gore and Kerry-Heinz turned him down and he had to settle for Romney?

Willard is not satisfied to lose Ohio just once but he wants another one to make an even pair.
