Most politicians are not well acquainted with the real world and real consequences.

“LOL, all of the FRussians will surely accept Russian incursions against our sovereignty as this thread proves.”

Our “sovereignty” in Syria, to conduct protective top cover for “moderate” Syrian rebel sunni jihadis?

I really need to pick up some SPF 10 million next time I’m at the store.

What I don’t get is how these people think they can just declare no fly zones over another country.

The Russians will just paint Mexican flags on their planes and Kasich will welcome then.

What does Syria have to do with U.S. sovereignty?

No different than Rubio, Christie, Fiorina, and even Sen Tom Cotton:

How do we establish a no-fly zone over another sovereign nation without their permission unless we declare war?

Being that Iran is actively jamming navigational beacons and GPS in the Middle East, I think I’d give Putin’s boys the benefit of the doubt and escort them out of the area rather than shoot them down.
The Iranians have pulled navigational hijinks at least twice recently: They jammed the GPS in our drone, put it into autopilot and then fed it coordinates at a stronger signal lever than real GPS to make it think it was in Afghanistan so that it would land. They probably did the same jamming to the Navy boats that they kept overnight.

Agree - but isn’t a US-established “no fly zone” sort of a dead letter now that Russia has moved its most advanced anti-aircraft missile systems onto its bases in Syria? Purportedly, each component can fire something like 800 missiles in seconds over a range of many hundreds of miles.

Strictly a checkers player, and not a good one. One side’s “no fly zone” is another side’s “sanctuary for terrorists.”
