Ted Cruz: Donald Trump sees protesters as disloyal people who must be punished
Washington Times ^ | March 14, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Posted on 03/14/2016 10:13:32 AM PDT by Pinkbell

Sen. Ted Cruz said Monday that GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump views protesters as disloyal people worthy of punishment and that the best response to Mr. Trump is to defeat him at the ballot box, reiterating his own pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee in the fall.

Mr. Cruz re-upped criticism of Mr. Trump for recently having rally attendees pledge their support to him, likening it to an action kings and queens demand of their subjects.

“It’s also reflected in his treatment of protesters, where anyone who’s a protester is disloyal and must be punished,” Mr. Cruz told reporters in Illinois ahead of the March 15 primary there.

“The only pledge that I am interested in, the only hand-raising that I’m interested in is on January 20, 2017, when I hope to raise my right hand with my left hand on the Bible and pledge to each and every one of you that I will preserve, protect [and] defend the Constitution and fight for the hard-working taxpayers,” Mr. Cruz said.

“That is a question the voters are asking: At what point do we say ‘enough is enough?’ ” Mr. Cruz said. “If Donald Trump is the nominee, he is a disaster, and the answer is to beat him.”

He’s playing the race card and hinting at how Trump doesnt want amnesty for the illegals. Ted showing more of his deceptive side. Trump has been right, Cruz is a first class liar.

Cruz is no conservative, but appears the very opposite. I hope he loses in TX soon.

Most people see aggressive and dangerous disruptives of a political event as a problem, Ted. In fact, your President Buddy, Obama, made disrupting political events a crime. The Left’s protesters should be arrested for what they are doing at Trump rallies. But we have a double standard of law enforcement now in America so they get away with breaking the law.

uh huh. DT is master manipulator. He’s a con man.

You didn’t provide a source. Did u read that at Drudge, Trumpart, Gateway, Infowars, Conserv Nuthouse? I don’t believe those sources. They’re bought & conspiracy nuts.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-partisan/wp/2016/03/13/donald-trumps-chicago-scam/

“Following the rally’s cancellation, Trump supporters expressed surprise at the number of protesters that were filling the lines and streaming into the event on a campus that is 25 percent Hispanic, 25 percent Asian and 8 percent black. William Daley, son of former Chicago mayor Richard J. Daley, did not share that surprise. “Whoever picked that location knew what they were doing as far as poking that sleeping dog there,” Daley said, suggesting to the New York Times that the venue was staged for the purpose of provoking protests that would energize Trump’s own supporters.

It would also land Trump on cable news channels throughout the night, talking nonstop over endless loops of skirmishes that paled in comparison with rowdy celebrations that often explode in American cities after sports championships. Yet everyone got sucked into the political sideshow. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio’s brief appearances on TV during the rolling cable news coverage only made their own candidacies seem smaller under the glare of Donald’s Big Tent Show.”

Look a little farther back, smartass! Entirely appropriate that you would engage in the same kind of tactics that Cruz has become known for.

Not that I’m inclined to proved a damned thing to you, but since you questioned my honesty, try this one (post #67 out of 97) and just about every one prior to it: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3406586/posts

Oh, and one other thing: Kiss my ass!

And here’s another from one week ago: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3406586/posts

Really sounds like I’m a closet Trump guy, doesn’t it?

I am sending an e-mail to the writer of the article. Maybe we will get a reply, but I won't hold my breath. Here is what I sent

David Sherfinski, yesterday morning there was an article you wrote in the Washington times with the headline:.

(Ted Cruz: Donald Trump sees protesters as disloyal people who must be punished)

Then later in the morning the headline was changed to read:

( Ted Cruz: ‘Protesters have no right to engage in violence’)

The body of each article read quite differently also. Here is how each article started out.

First article:

Ted Cruz: Donald Trump sees protesters as disloyal people who must be punished

Washington Times ^ | March 14, 2016 | David Sherfinski

Second Article:

Ted Cruz: ‘Protesters have no right to engage in violence’

By David Sherfinski - The Washington Times - Monday, March 14, 2016

In response to recent unrest at GOP presidential front-runner Donald Trump’s events, Sen. Ted Cruz said Monday that protesters have no right to threaten or engage in violence, but that responsibility does start at the top in every campaign.

“I will say this: Protesters have no right to engage in violence,” Mr. Cruz told reporters in Illinois, also saying the protesters have no right to threaten violence or shout down other speakers.

I would appreciate it very much if you could explain to me, as to why and when the original article was changed?

Sincerely,
